relative pathnames in definition of "My Document" (and other paths as well)

Submitted by kuponklipper on January 23, 2010 - 9:02am

I'm using openoffice portable from my USB stick on different computers. The drive doesn't get the same drive letter. So how could I make "My documents" point to a relative path instead of an absolut path

Also it would be nice to have other standard definitions relative instead of absolute. Finally (If all the above finds a solution ;-)) it would be nice if "recent documents" also be relative paths to the root of the USB drive

Outdated appicon.ico for OO.o 3.1.1?

I'm pretty sure this is a simple packaging error, but while I was getting the main OpenOffice.org Icon to show up on the menu, I found that the appicon.ico for OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 Portable is outdated. It's the icon from OpenOffice.org 2, not 3. It's not that big of a deal though since the icon doesn't show up on the menu by default.

open office start center?

Submitted by Hahndo on January 16, 2010 - 3:51am

I installed OO.o on my thumb drive. Now, when I launch OO.o, I get all of the apps in my menu (Writer, Calc, Inpress, Draw, Math, and Base). I would rather have the Start Center in my menu than all of the other apps showing. I see the Start Center in the folder along with the other apps (it's the one that only has the seagulls flying), but it's not in the menu. How would someone go about changing this around. So, that the other apps do not show up only the Start Center. (Sorry, if this has been asked before. I did a search and could not find anything.)

Doc to Pdf Converter

Submitted by mayureshwatharkar on December 29, 2009 - 7:18am

Hello all,
I want to convert .doc file to .pdf format using PortableOpenOffice that too programmatically. i.e. the file should get converted into pdf format on the fluy of c#.net code. I got one document from "codeproject" giving brief details to do this. Here is the link.

https://www.codeproject.com/KB/office/PortableOpenOffice.aspx

But I am getting problems in it. I have actually implemented everything from top to bottom of this page. But I am getting an exception at the c# code statement.

Open Office Portable 3.1 Internal Error on BartPE

Submitted by PortDag on December 26, 2009 - 4:59pm

I have created a BartPE disc and installed OpenOffice Portable 3.1 on the disc. I tried using plugins but wasn't able to get those to work. So I just want to install it on the disc in a folder to just run as a separate program. Other programs I've installed in the same way on the disc work properly.

I installed OOP 3.1 on my hard drive and configured the OpenOffice.ini as follows:

[OpenOfficePortable]
OpenOfficeDirectory=App\openoffice
SettingsDirectory=Data\settings
OpenOfficeExecutable=soffice.exe
AdditionalParameters=
WaitForOpenOffice=false
RunDataLocally=true
