OpenOffice.org Automation

Submitted by Stojilcoviz on December 14, 2009 - 12:55pm

I'm trying to automate the task of filling some documents using OpenOffice.org.
I've already developed a fully working apps that use OpenOffice.org installed into the user computer. What I want now to do is not use the copy of OpenOffice.org installed into the user computer but the portable version of OpenOffice.org stored into a USB stick.
The application I made is developed using VB.NET.

Can´t pass through registration

Submitted by kalalumba on November 29, 2009 - 10:36am

Hi

I want to start OpenOffice with Writer and hence need to go through registration (couldn't find any topic in the forum already related to that). When it comes to the window "registration" the button NEXT is gray meaning I can#t click it. I can just click finish installation and this kicks me out of the installation.

Btw: I have also problems with making Thunderbird work with GMX (see other forum).
Is anybody recognizing in my description any general problem afftecting whole platform?

Selective installer one day?

Submitted by RonnieG1976 on November 24, 2009 - 10:28pm

It would be great to have a selective installer. I really only need Calc, Impress, Math and Writer. But my attempts at hacking away the unneeded apps ended in disastrous consequences. The other apps are great, I just don't need them.

Maybe I am modifying the .ini files wrong. Any input is greatly appreciated.

"Installer integrity check failed"

Submitted by Dreamstalker on November 14, 2009 - 7:58pm

I've already installed the platform and most of the apps I want without incident; the OpenOffice installer won't even launch and errors out with "The installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download or damaged media". I have also attempted to install a previous version (hoping to update once installed), but that gives me the same message.

The operating system on my laptop is Vista Home Premium w/SP2; I'm trying to install onto a Patriot 8GB flash drive (this app is the only one out of about 5 that gives me the error message).

Any ideas?

Documents folder error

Submitted by RaggieSoft on November 10, 2009 - 10:26am

For some reason, OOo 3.1.1 Portable insists on saving everything to E:\PortableApps\OpenOfficePortable\Data\Documents instead of the default E:\Documents created by the PA Menu (I'm using 2.0 beta 3).

Yes, I've tred reinstalling OOo Portable from scratch (completely deleting the E:\PortableApps\OpenOfficePortable\*.* folder and starting over with a fresh download)

E:\ in this case is my USB hard drive

EDIT: Clarification: I can still navigate to the E:\Documents folder from the Save As dialog, but it always starts in E:\PortableApps\OpenOfficePortable\Data\Documents.
