How to deploy xslt-filter and macros in OpenOfficePortable

Submitted by ukriegel on June 29, 2010 - 4:03am

Hi there,
we intend to use OpenOfficePortable-Calc as a verifier for data collected at different local organizations because they are already familiar with spreadsheets. For verification and consistency checks we developed a set of macros and 2 xslt-trafos for in- and output formats.

We would like to create via PortableApps.comInstaller an OpenOfficePortable distribution which contains our filters and macro definitions.
At first we installed OpenOfficePortable, added a portable java and installed the filters.

Icons on menu: conserve space

Submitted by LanceHaverkamp on June 24, 2010 - 9:43pm

I'm trying to conserve space on the menu. So rather than display all six separate icons, I want to hide those & just show the main (non-specific) OOo launcher. Problem is, I can't find a way to show the main OOo icon.

Hiding the other six is easy, just right-click > hide, but can anyone see a way to show the main launch icon in the menu?

Thanks,

Lance

Cannot uncheck Java on OpenOfficeCalcPortable

Submitted by kgfwe on May 28, 2010 - 9:11am

When I uncheck Java (Options-Openoffice.org-Java-Use a Java runtime environment), it seems to uncheck. But when I close Openoffice and start again (now or later), Java is always checked again.

Also, when I start openoffice calc 3.2.0 (build 9483) java is started automatically before calc window is opened, then a series of command windows. It is shown in Process Explorer. Three versions of Java are installed on the public computer I'm using.

Is the date of 18.12.2008 correct for OpenOfficeCalcPortable.exe 3.2.0?
Is this a bug in OpenOffice Portable 3.2?

Hi folks,

I have Chinese (Traditional) download on;

https://portableapps.com/apps/office/openoffice_portable/localization

and installed on a USB stick. Installation went through without problem and complaint. On testing it OOWriter took prolonged time to start. I tested it on Vista and WinXP. However it starts very quick on Ubuntu 10.04 running;

$ wine /path/to/OpenOfficePortableWriter.exe

Installer without a frigging C: free space requirement !!!

Submitted by DSpider on May 13, 2010 - 4:39pm

No, free, space, requirement. Please !

Because on my "work" area there's barely any room on C: to pass gas. There are just 25.3 MB at the moment because Opera is creating those stupid (yet very lovely) .vps files at the time of writing this.

I noticed I can open the installer with 7-zip. Why is the structure so messed up ?

    $PLUGINSDIR
    $R0
    $_OUTDIR
