OpenOffice Portable

I can't open new Microsoft Word 2007 file format using OpenOffice 2.2.1 Portable? Is there a file import/export converter for OpenOffice Portable?

I've noticed that all the individual applications show in the portable apps menu but not the generic launcher. Is there a settings change I can make to have the generic launcher show in the portable apps menu?

First of all, thanks, JTH, for the hard work and good products. I've just installed OOo-portable, v. 2.2.1, on two USB flash drives, and both times I could not quit the process and disconnect properly. WinXP,SP2. I received error messages saying that a program was still accessing the drive.

I noticed that the OpenOfficePortable.exe launcher does not appear in PAM in the new version.
While some may like that, I prefer to just use that, and move all the individual mini-launchers to another folder (to keep them out of PAM).
I've always thought the mini-launchers were kind of redundant, and take up valuable real estate in PAM:
Since OOo is essentially a single app, I would rather just open the main app, and then choose "New..." whatever I want.

Is this by design or accident?

I just noticed that you use nrv2d compression. Are there any reasons not to use nrv2e?

I have used Open Office Portable from a USB pen at work for a long while with no problems.

Today the antivirus program installed,

Sophos Antivirus Version 6-5-7
Threat Detection Data 4:19

started identifying

\openofficeportable\App\openoffice\program\libxml2.dll

as an file infected with virus Mal/Behav-128

Anyone else have the same problems??? What can we do about it???

Is there any way I can localize OpenOfficePortable to en_GB?
Or is the an en_GB OpenOfficePortable due out soon?
Failing that, how do I install my existing full-sized en_GB OpenOffice in PortableApps and get it to work?
Also how can I reduce the full-sized en_GB OpenOffice to a more portable size?

I love OpenOffice, but I've got some works files i need to work with and I can't seem to find any applications - that are free- that are compatible with works formatting. Anyone know somethin' i don't? :/

Whenever I exit an Impress presentation, OpenOffice.org crashes--no error message, no warning: it just freezes and I have to stop it and restart. It happens on my Linux system, too (except that on Linux, it's not portable).
