OpenOffice Portable

I've not found an answer to this over the last few versions. For as many versions as I've tried of OOP writer, they all seem to become unresponsive about every 10 minutes or so (not timed exactly, I'm too frustrated at the time). I don't have an internet connection that's open, and it doesn't look like it's waiting for that. It will just not respond for 2-3 minutes+, even on the simplest of docs. I have the backup set at 30 minutes and that didn't change it.

I'm using Hebrew OO (2.1 I think...) and was wondering if I can install a vHebrew version of OO on my U3 USB drive.

I couldn't find the right version anywhere - only the English one.

Has anybody here used extensions for OpenOffice? Or does anybody know how they work? What I'm wondering is if they OpenOffice saves the extensions inside their own directory (or the data folder) or if it's saved in the appdata dir. Thanks.

Hi first portable Ooo is great it allow me to do work where I could not in the pas.

When I try to install the download that I got from this site I get the following error message "Windows can not open this file. Windows needs to know what program created this file" I tried deleting the download and re-downloading it in case the download was corrupt. I downloaded to my U3 portable thumb drive and am trying to install from there. Any Ideas?

trying to create a openoffice portable live cd and cant get the ini file right. I copyed the script into word pad and named it openofficeportable.ini and followed the directions. does not work for me

Hi Can you please share the source of the modified files for the openoffice.org portable? not the whole package.. only the modified files!! and also the openoffice.org portable launcher if it opensource..

when using OpenOfficePortble, certain functions need a Java Runtime Environment on the host computer. If I am not allowed to install JRE there, how can I get by and use OpenOfficePortable to its extends?

I downloaded some fonts using the included "Wizard" and it left a couple of files in C:\Documents and Settings\username\local settings\Temp\fontooo\

I use the latest (German) beta.

Maybe a hint to this on the support page would be good or can the Launcher fix that?

I downloaded OpenOffice.org Portable, and it works seamlessly in Windows XP. However, I ran it from my USB (Lexar Jumpdrive 2.0 Pro) on a Windows 98SE machine and the menu bar didn't appear. When I right clicked on the "Drawing" menu bar (none of the buttons appeared on that one), I clicked on Configure>Menu, but then Windows did that usual freezing up, and I had to end the program. I then copied it to the hard drive, but got the same results.
