How to get XAMPP running and be able to use .php pages with it?

Submitted by Subjective Effect on January 27, 2009 - 7:13pm

Hi everyone.

I've just reinstalled Portable Apps after over a year away since I realise that is so much could have been doing with it and I've just been missing out.

I've got the basics - Firefox, GIMP, Filezilla, Komposer and 7-Zip.

But what I really need is XAMPP so I can do some work on my php/mySQL website (and perhaps learn AXAJ at the same time).

Details:
XAMPP is installed on my portable HD at E:\PortableApps\xampp

GnuCash Crashes when Invoice is Saved and Closed

Submitted by spabhat on January 27, 2009 - 1:21am

When an Invoice in GnuCash is saved and closed GnuCash crashes suddenly.

I checked out in the GnuCash IRC Channel and it is confirmed that this is a known issue.

In such case, it is advised to use an older version of GnuCash or to use the latest commits from SVN.

I, however, could not find an older version of GnuCash Portable nor do I know how to get the latest vesion from SVN and use it.

Can anyone help me out in this regard? Where can I find older versions of this or is how do we use the latest changes from SVN?

Thanking you in Advance.

Notepad - LightExplorer gone after update?

Submitted by nicolleen on January 16, 2009 - 5:12am

Hi,

maybe I've gone blind... I installed the new Notepad++ update just now, and my LightExplorer plugin has disappeared and I can't get it back it seems! I have checked the plugin folder, there is the lightexplorer.dll all right. I even downloaded a newer version of this plugin and replaced the dll, restarted notepad, but no success. I also can't find any help in the help file. Where can I find this plugin or how do I invoke it?

tnx

WinWGet (Application Error)

Submitted by NiMhurchu on January 15, 2009 - 4:08pm

I have just tried WinWget.
Starting the GUI is OK, but no webpage can be downloaded, whether parameters are set or not. I navigated to the folder where the wget binary resides (wget.exe) and tried to run it via command line, but to no avail:
---------------------------
wget.exe - Application Error
---------------------------
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
(Did you know that you can copy-and-paste-as-text those error messages with ctrl-c/ctrl-v?)
