[Solved] Getting Geany to compile simple C program...

Submitted by MONKAYMOO on May 14, 2012 - 11:24am

[SOLVED!!!]

I don't regret making this post, because it helped me notice something that I then tried, and it worked.

Instead of: @Drive:\PortableApps\CommonFiles\MinGW\bin
I used: @Drive\PortableApps\CommonFiles\MinGW\bin

That is, there is no ':' (colon) after the "@Drive"

My program compiles now. Hope this is helpful to others!

Dsyncronize Portable will not run

Submitted by RussB on May 13, 2012 - 9:22pm

I get an error message with:
DSynchronizer Portable (PortableApps.com Launcher)

Another instance of DSyncronizer Portable is currently closing. Please
wait for it to finish before launching it again.
----------------------------------------------------------

I have tried:
Checking Task Manager for running apps, processes, and services. Nothing there.
Re-boot the computer.
Re-install DSyncronize Portable.

Nothing helps.

Anyone have any ideas?

TIA

[Closed] Eraser 8.8.1 portable - Global Preferences not applied or saved

Submitted by MichaelDW on May 12, 2012 - 2:38pm

If you try to set the preferences they are reset and your setting are lost as soon as you close the preference window.

This makes the 'On demand' unreliable.
Only the 'Schedule' can be trusted, as the preferences for each task are separate from the Global preferences. And The Global preferences are what is getting reset.

[Fixed] Eraser 5.8.8.1 Portable = Cant download

Eraser 5.8.8.1 Portable

I try to download, from inside "PortableApps.com Platform 10.0.1".

The download from the portableapps.com website work.

Error message = The downloaded copy of Eraser Portable is not valid and can not be installed. This could be due to an incomplete download or other network issue. Please try running the updater again when complete.

[not solved] - jPortable_7_Update_4.1_online.paf and LibreOfficePortable_3.5.3_MultilingualNormal.paf

Submitted by dunedin-hughie on May 11, 2012 - 7:53pm

Greetings,

Both of these apps are clean installs today.

LibreOffice reports that the current JRE is defective and could I please choose a new one from tools - options etc. I checked the location and it is fine. This is using base wizard which requires java to run.

I have noted the 2 threads below this post which are similar but not exactly so.

post: about running Windows greater than 2000

post: the one about the incorrect install location for java

I am running Win 7 64 bit
I didn't tick the experimental remove box in LibrOffice installer.

[Fixed] updating jPortable gives strange default install location

Ken Herbert's picture

Seeing a few new updates out that I wanted, I just ran the updater. I had Blender, jPortable and LibreOffice to update. Blender updated fine but jPortable gave me some grief.

First, the install was not silent (if this is due to needing to accept the EULA again, ignore this as an issue), but after accepting the agreement, it gives the default install location as "_online.paf.exeCommonFiles/Java".

[Fixed] Foxit 5.3.0 Rev 2 leaves files behind

Not fully portable

It leaves behind this folder:
%APPDATA%\Foxit Software\RMS

Please make a forum post in the Other Apps called "[Bug] Foxit 5.3.0 Rev 2 leaves files behind" and include more information like your OS, install location and what was done within Foxit to create that directory (opening a file, saving something, etc). I don't recall seeing this in our testing, so this could be tied to a specific function.
