PortableApps.com Platform

Hi,

the only reason why I keep going back to Asuite instead of the PA platform is, that there are no hotkeys for the applications possible.
Is this on the agenda or am I the only one who would like to start applications with a keyboard stroke instead of browsing the platform with the mouse?

I downloaded and unpacked photofilmstrip 1.5.0 where the PhotoFilmStrip.exe file sits in a folder named bin which is a subfolder of the main folder. The are no files in the main folder, only subfolders. What do I do in order to make it appear in the PortableApps Platform? Moving the .exe file to the main folder makes it appear but the app does not work then.

Whenever i start up the portable apps platform, it gives me the error of


The file being read is not a valid "Portable Network Graphics" image because it contains an invalid header. This file may be corrupted, try obtaining it again


It gives me no directory, and no other information

Any help for this??

Is there a way to provide instructions to the PAM via CLI?

I'm sure this would have a lot of advantages for a lot of people.

In my case I've created a batch to mount a TrueCrypt volume and launch PortableApps. Now I'm trying to create another to close the menu using a method equivalent to pressing the exit (not eject) button from the menu and unmount the drive.

Hoping to avoid TaskKill for this as I would prefer a more elegant option that enables the possibility of integrating a PAM data/profile in the future.

I have found an application (Mowes Portable) which I really like but it needs to run on the root level of the usb. This as far as I know means that the .exe can not be inserted into the portableapps menu. Is there any way of linking this application into the menu? I tried simply creating a windows shortcut and inserting that into a folder in the proper directory in the portableapps drive, but this was apparently too simple. Any help would be appreciated. Moderators please feel free to place this into a more appropriate location if necessary.

I remember when the new Platform launched (10.0.1?) the personal picture feature caused the platform to crash and burn until it was disabled... was this ever fixed?

Hi, was planning on using a USB with portableapps at my school where theres a strict no USB rule.

Im wondering, is there a way they can see I've used a USB? I know about clearing last used documents of course but I mean can they see I've physicly attached a USB? They use Win XP.

Are there any command line arguments for the Portable Apps Platform? I'm looking to have my apps update behind the scenes. I could use AutoHotkey to handle the GUI, but I thought check first to see if there was a more efficient method.

So..I love the idea of portable apps, especially portable browsing but I've run into an issue that I'm not sure is normal or not, but I'd think not. Whenever I run my portable apps USB stick and go to eject it, it says it's in use and I go into task manager and whatever portable app I've been using, as well as the portableapps platform app itself is still running so I have to force-quit them through task manager before I can eject the stick. Is this normal? I've visually closed all the apps on the screen obviously...

Problem: The appinfo.ini file of applications from your site contains an entry "Homepage". I noticed that many of this links will not work (anymore). For example Stellarium Portable contains an entry Homepage=PortableApps.com/StellariumPortable. On the other hand, there is similar a link in Firefox Portable that actually redirects to the real app page.

Question: Is there a way to find the application homepage from the appinfo.ini file?
