Enhancement for Portable Apps dot com menu

Submitted by ristof on September 25, 2009 - 1:20am

Hi.

I 'm a real fan of this portableapps and [name of illegal site removed - this is your final warning about linking to and mentioning illegal websites - mod JTH] website but I reckon i'd like it way more (heaps in fact) if I could use arrow keys up and down the list with Tab function then enter to open the chosen program.

Can this be made possible by the next release eg not beta?

Thanks all the legendary developers (and hackers) alike you are brilliant bright spark people.

How should I update/replace the Standard build of PortableApps.com Platform and Suite

Should I install on top of (and over-write) the existing installation at
H:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu.

H:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu\PortableAppsMenu.exe is dated 20/11/2006,
and Readme.txt says it is version 1.0 and copyright 2006.

Alan

My portableapps runs slowly

Submitted by Revontulet on September 20, 2009 - 9:22am

Hi !

Well my problem:

I've got an 8GB pendrive, and I've installed there the portableapps.
When I'm installing an app, the installation runs very slow, and take some time, but that's not all.
When I try to run an application, I click in the icon, but the application doesn't run till the minute or two minutes after clicking. Inmediatly opens the image with the program and the name of the app, but the app doesn't work till the minuteor 2 minutes.

Is that normal? How can I do to run the programs faster??

Thanks

Hi,

My registration to this forum is very new (few minutes).
I'm from France, so please forgive my approximate english.
I use portable applications since very short time.

So, my trouble today is to add a shortcut in the left part of the PortableApps Menu.
Especially, I would like to launch the Thunderbird address book.

The syntax of that command is : ThunderbirdPortable.exe -addressbook

Is there anyone who knows how to proceed to have this command in the left part of the menu as shown in the picture link below ?
