I was thinking about the wallpaper swapper built into the menu... In the development test releases, there is like only one desktop icon replacer that actually works. There is also the portableapps icon application, but that is only one icon, and it isn't really an icon at all.

What would be nice is if Mr. Haller could somehow add something like the wallpaper swapper, but more advanced, almost to where it creates a whole new "desktop" folder. It would have:

1) a background - perhaps it could be as easy to set and change as the menu picture is.

I've been getting into the Rock Band Customs scene, and found that most of the tools used for creating custom charts for Rock Band are natively portable, so I started using the PortableApps Menu as an easy launcher for all of those tools. I decided that my PAM could use a custom facelift as well, and here's my result

Ideas for the PortableApps.com Platform

I've been thinking about some improvements in PortableApps.com's platform. Maybe there could be a tool to customize the menu, by adding a picture to the background, or by changing the color of the menu. And to organize the platform, there could be user-defined groups for apps! I don't know much about development, but if that could be possible, it would be a great improvement.

Now with adding portable freeware to portableapps.com, there probably will be a lot of apps added to the list. So I think maybe it's time to make installing an app more convienent. Yes I know it's already very simple, but basically you have to do the same steps each time you want to install an app (going to portableapps.com , select the app, download the app from sourceforge, run the installer).
