Why do the following portable apps:

KompoZer Portable, BPBible Portable, GIMP Portable, Mozilla Firefox - Portable Edition, Mozilla Thunderbird - Portable Edition, AbiWord Portable, Mozilla Sunbird - Portable Edition, and ClamWin Portable

show up in C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\Applications Data\

in the following way: .clamwin, bpbible, Kompozer, Mozilla (Extensions, Firefox, Sunbird), and Thunderbird?

The following, other, portable applications that I run on the same stick such as:

SIW, JungleDisk Portable, TrueCrypt, XnView and MozBackup

appear in the following way:

I've just installed a bunch of apps on my thumb drive after formatting it. It works fine on my laptop at home. At work, though, it runs fine the first time, but after that I can't click on any of the application buttons. The menu is visible, as is the right-click menu on the systray icon, but I can't actually do anything with the menu, beyond the first click.

Right now, I'm starting the app by double-clicking on z:\papps\startportableapps.exe.

Any hints or suggestions?

It could be a good feature, changing your desktop my documents folder to your portableapps.com my documents folder, and back again after you are done.

Can anyone explain if it is possible to use something like EjectUSB with the ejection button with the Mod Menu? I would like to use something else than the windows ejection. If it is possible can some give me the step how to do it. Thanks.

Could you add a way to start the PortableApps menu minimized (such as with a command-line /minimized switch)?

This would allow us to, for example, place a shortcut into winndows startup, and not have to manually minimize the app each time windows starts.

Is there any way to install/upgrade many portable apps in one single operation from the PortableApps start menu?

I have got quite a few apps on my USB stick now, and it is a bit tedious to install or upgrade them one by one.

I have tried to find some info about this in the forum but to no avail.
Feedback would be most welcome.

I love portable apps, I really do. But how can we ever expect this to take off with the public when autolaunching is such a pain? Can we really expect people to know to click into my computer, and then into the drive letter, EACH time they want to launch the software? To me, this is a massive Achilles Heal.

Is it possible to create folders in PortableApps.com menu to sort the various shortcuts for example by subject (Internet, Productivity, Games etc. ..). Otherwise would it be possible to add this option in a future version.

I hope this is a simple problem with a simple solution. I have PortableApps running and I open the menu and click on "Backup" and then "Backup Files" but nothing happens. It's almost like the backup has been disabled. Any suggestions?
