Congratulations Steve
When I create a new job I have been using the popup window. This window works great as long as I choose SAVE JOB. The problem comes when I choose DELETE JOB. When there are entries in both directories those entries show up in the previous saved job.
The SAVE icon seems to make no difference to the outcome.
I have had this issue with previous versions also.

Hi
Firstly thank you for making Toucan !
I normally use SyncbackPro for my backups but I don’t like the fact it doesn’t make true mirror images of the source drive. Upper and lower case characters are ignored and this is pretty annoying when you have re-named thousands of MP3 files !
I was very pleased to learn that Toucan was able to differentiate the character case so I thought I would make the switch. However I have to say I am disappointed and a little worried with my first encounter with Toucan.
Toucan 3.0.3 crashes (in msvcrt90.dll, I believe) after running for about 15 minutes (about halfway through) on a Sync from my portable disc drive to my USB stick with a total of ~4GB. (No hardware failure, a Windows copy or rsync works fine.)
EDIT: Edited title, crash is in "msvcr90.dll", not "msvcrt90.dll".
I’m running it under WinXP+SP3 German, set Toucan to use the English language, and the following settings:
Jobname: Backup auf Stick
Function: Mirror
File Checks: [x] File Size, [x] Modified Time, [x] Full Comparison
Below is the log from the backup which produced errors. The backup seems to have worked, and my files seem to all be present. The job is an update backup with the default compression in ZIP format with the "check integrity" check-box selected. I have run the backup from scratch which produced the log you see below. When I ran it again it still produced the same errors. I have also changed the file path in Toucan, but that did not solve the problem.

Weird stuff happen when I try this rule:
*.+ File to Exclude
*.+ Folder to Exclude
specific_file.txt Location to Include
It's probably worse because I copy that single file to a root folder (for example, c:\foo\bar\specific_file.txt to d:\). Anyway, it starts copying folders that are around this file. It copies them without their files though.
It seems to copy less folders with:
*.* File to Exclude
*.* Folder to Exclude
specific_file.txt Location to Include
But it's still bad.
The preview is not supposed to be dynamic.
I upgraded to 3.0.3 from 2.x and I can't figure how to enable the old 'update' function. In reading the help it seems that there is no way to do this. Let me explain:
Lets say you want to copy everything from S that is newer than D. Reading the help you would use the Copy function using file checks. The only problem with this is that if D is newer than S, S gets copied over D. This is not right. If D is newer than S, I don't want it overwritten, D should remain and nothing should happen.
So how do I enable the old 'update' function? It's really unclear.
Hello, been using Toucan for a while now. Great tool!
I'm am simply trying to exclude a folder while performing a Sync operation. The preview shows the folder in the destination as red, which should mean that it will ignore the folder...
I get red lines in the log about not being able to create files (or folders, can't remember) that exist in the directory that is set to ignore.
My scenario:
-----------------------
P:\ *root*
\folder
\sync
\backup-pc-sync-folder *symbolic link to a network location*
\folder
Hi,
I'm just wondering what the difference is between Mirror and Clean+Update ?
I got a script that takes 15% longer if I run it in Mirror-mode compared to Clean+Update.
Thanks in advance.
