Toucan

Hi Guys,

first of all, PortableApps is the best!!! :)))

I have a question. I would like to synchronize some folders from harddrive to my mobile device. Unfortunatelly I can not see the mobile drive in toucan, but of courese in Windows Explorer. Do anybody have ideas what can I do?

I just updated to Toucan 2.1.1 which I use from the command line (using a sync job that refers to both source and destination as environment variables). I am using Windows Vista. I think it does the sync and then comes up with the windows message "Toucan.exe has stopped working". I was fine on the previous version.Thanks.

I found a couple of old threads that say sync will work with deleted files...

They say it should work in version 2. It is not deleting files for me. I have the latest version (2.1.0).

When I delete files from the source folder, Toucan copies them back from the USB drive. I'm using Equalize (which is the only mode that sounds right). Am I doing something wrong?

Google search for clean site:portableapps.com/forums/support/toucan finds nothing.

I've recently started using toucan and I like it's simplicity and speed, however there are a few things I would greatly appreciate to be improved/implemented.
When you create a backup job and put its compression level to none, a zip file is still created, the file contents are just not compressed. In the format section, I would like a None option along with Zip and 7-Zip, since it takes a while for my computer to open large zip files even if the contents isn't compressed.

I would like to install Toucan on my thumb drive which has a U3 menu system. I used an app called Package Factory to convert the Toucan Install app to U3 package format and installed it to the drive but Toucan does not run when selected from the menu. I assume this is a routine sort of activity and wonder if you can guide me to the instructions to follow or specific apps to use for this?

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or a request for a new feature, but I didn't see it mentioned in the forum:

When I run a backup and select Update as the type, Toucan updates files that have changed correctly, but it doesn't remove deleted files from the archive. That is, if I'm backing up a folder containing a number of files, and I delete one file from the folder, when I run the update on the backup the deleted file remains in the archive. I'm seeing this in both 2.0.7 and 2.1.0.

in Script i try to make rotation backups,
but no Command (Delete, Rename, Copy,...) works.

only normal script works, like Backup...

I make all like you make in example.
