Toucan

It looks like the new Toucan (2.1.0) continues to try to process a file that it was unable to open, leading to the following log entries. Also, the log entries on the failed fseek and stat calls make it look like it was successful, which is misleading (thanks Microsoft and your weird WIN32 status codes.) I think in this case that the first error message is enough.

It would also be nice to do something to highlight error messages. I have less than computer savvy people running sync jobs (long story.) and colors or something would make it easier to understand the log files quickly.

I think I found a small bug when you choose the "Remeber Entered Information" for "Sync".

Yes, when you restart Toucan it will load the last job you had chosen in Sync, but the "Job Name" is empty even though it has loaded up one of the jobs.

Not a big bug, but confusing for my fellow newbie friends.

I use regularly Toucan for saving my data files and it works fine.

However, when I do a mirror of a very big folder (one folder containing many files -- around 30 Go of .mp3 in a unique folder), Toucan fails to succed and it crashes before ending the process. I don't know if it's a bug or a inherent limit of the program. Just felt it could be usefull to tell about it.

I'm having trouble adding a folder (and its subfolders) with @ in it's name as either source or destination. It goes fine to add a parent folder and browse though. Could this be a bug?

I've an issue regarding the preview function in the "mirror (update)" mode. When I want to preview what toucan want's to copy on my stick. I get the Windows message "Toucan.exe hat ein Problem festgestellt und muß beendet werden."

Interesting is: Synchronizing the folders is working.

Do you've any hint's for me?

Is there an option to exclude junction points from synchronisation/backup? Otherwise there are allways duplicates, if you don't manually exclude every single folder.
Would be a nice feature...

How do I uninstall Toucan?

If you have made a backup (and set "Backup location" to a zip-archive like "Jan.zip") and then wants to make a "Differential" backup, the process fails.

What's the deal. THe files are not write protected, and I do have security permissions.
