Miranda: Firewall exception

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for a fix...

I have MirandaIM Portable running from my USB stick, and it works perfectly apart from one aspect. Every time I eject the drive the Windows XP firewall exception for the miranda32.exe program disappears. Therefore every time I plug the drive in I'm asked whether I want to unblock the program or not, and it's getting quite annoying.

using pidgin portable 2.5.8 and still cannot login to yahoo

Can someone help me? I have installed version 2.5.8, and I still cannot connect to yahoo.

I get this when trying to login: Unknown error number 1013. Logging into the Yahoo! website may fix this.

I log in to yahoo, and still nothing. Rebooted, relogged in, still nothing.

Help!

For those who originally picked up version 0.2.1 for Pidgin Portable, there's no a MANUAL INSTALLATION Option for you.

First, pick up the zipped version of the plugin at http://microblog-purple.googlecode.com/files/pidgin-microblog-0.2.2.zip

Second, unzip & install the files
into X:\PortableApps\PidginPortable\App\Pidgin (replace X with your USB's drive
letter) & allow overwrites, if any.

Third, fire up Pidgin & enjoy!

For those who aren't willing to take the manual route, you can wait for the official portable release later at http://microblog-purple.googlecode.com/

Pidgin: Video Chat Workaround using MeBeam

Submitted by 73h_p0W on June 26, 2009 - 6:02pm

I found a plug-in for this "problem". To be exactly it's not a true workaround. It's just a web site offering free video conferences, that made a plug-in for Pidgin. That means the site works on any system!

The only problem with it is the following:

It only is available for Pidgin running on Windows!
The setup that can be downloaded needs a standard Pidgin installation. (Wait for the workaround!)

Workaround:
It doesn't matter if Pidgin ist running or not!

Miranda: GnuPG Support [SecureIM / Jabber]

Heya,

while you are working on the 0.8 release would it be possible to include code similar to the one from ThunderbirdPortable Launcher to set up GnuPG Settings when running the launcher?

"Why?" you will ask .. the plugin SecureIM can be used in RSA/AES and PGP/GPG mode. The latter is supported by many other clients natively, e.g. Psi (Jabber), licq, Gajim, ...
