Pidgin: windows error reporting window

Submitted by freekarol on June 13, 2009 - 2:04pm

I have used Pidgin for a long time without any problems. But now I have a problem with it and I don't know what to do about it... When Pidgin wants to connect to my accounts it is always shown a "windows error reporting" window. BTW, I don't use any plugins... Please, could you tell me what's wrong with my Pidgin? Thanks a lot.

PuTTY: Integration with WinSCP Portable

I use PuTTYPortable in conjunction with WinSCPPortable quite often because of the way my college's computer science department is set up, I have to submit assignments from the lab (not over email), so I tend to do remote logins from my laptop. Anyway, regardless of the why, the what is that there are several problems with the integration of PuTTYPortable with WinSCPPortable.

Miranda IM Portable is not needed anymore

Submitted by CrendKing on June 2, 2009 - 10:30pm

Any Miranda IM released the Preview Release #2 today, I found a mirandaboot.ini file in the zip archive. In the [Database] section, the "ProfileDir" variable is designed to indicate the profile directory. By default, the value is "%APPDATA%\Miranda". Changing it to "profiles" and move the profiles directory under the Data directory from the Miranda IM Portable, we now have the same portability without any launcher, and which means Miranda IM Portable is not needed anymore.

[Fixed] Miranda: [FIXED] Did 0.7.19 Portable wipe out previous version for anyone else?

I downloaded and installed the new 0.7.19 and it wiped out my previous folder in lieu of the new one. Fortunately I was smart enough to make a backup of my previous folder but did this happen to anyone else? I tried twice and both times my whole directory is overwritten.

Miranda: Do I really need ICQ et al to get on MSN?

I gave this a try today as an alternative to Pidgin, to see what all the fuss was about. It kind of threw me a curve ball asking for my AIM info. OK, I put it in, but then it asked me for ICQ. Don't have it, so I hit Cancel. Now all the status icons on the bottom are black and I can't even put my MSN info in.

I figured out that if I right-click on the systray icon and go to Options I can enter the info manually, but I still can't connect to anything.

Do I really need to configure all networks for it to connect just to one?

Pidgin: Pounces

Submitted by listless on April 30, 2009 - 9:29pm

Can the program be made simply to change my status upon the changing of a contacts' status?

Also, why isn't is that setting pounces is done from a simple drop down list instead of having to know a contacts name.
