Hi,
since the 2.5.3 update my Pidgin fails at exiting. The window stays open (turns completely white) and sometimes it even freezes the whole system :/
If not, it takes quite a while until the "application hangs..." message appears.

Pidgin is usually docked at the right edge of the screen (...if that matters)
I'm running WinXP SP3

Does anyone know why PuTTY Portable must be started manually before WinSCP Portable can invoke it via its toolbar button? Do the standard (non-PortableApps) versions of these programs have this same limitation?

Also, I noticed that WinSCP Portable is configured to use the file "PuTTYPortableLinker.exe" as the path for the PuTTY program. Would the integration also work if I change this WinSCP setting to the direct path of the putty.exe program file (or perhaps the puttyportable.exe launcher file)?

Sorry I'm somewhat clueless...

I mostly use msn on my pidgin. It seems to me that every time I click to open my hotmail inbox. It leads me to the windows live log in page saying that my password is incorrect and I have to manually enter my password before getting through. It is the same thing on multiple computers. I am wondering if anybody else is having the same problem, and any tips on how to fix this annoyance would be appreciated.

When adding an IRC account i get the following error message:

"IRC nicks may not contain whitespace"

Which is strange cause i have no white spaces in. After doing some googling i found an old ticked about this issue (http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/6373)

I then decided to install a normal version of Pidgin, create an IRC account, and it enabled without any problem.

Now i whent back to the portable version, and what is suspected occured: the IRC account was now working properly, without the nasty message!

I tried to install the spellchecker plugin with my miranda portable.
The Plugin works but i can't choose a dictonary in the menu.
Where must I paste the folder with the dictonary to ?

My eScan Antivirus (Kaspersky engine) blamed me that the actual version of FileZilla 3.1.5 has the Trojan Trojan.Win32.Pakes.lth included.

Wrong alarm or is there malware included in this version?

I am new to PortableApps and this is my first post.

I tested Pidgin and aMSN, both new for me because I only use WLM.

One problem with Pidgin is that PIDGINLANG must be set to zh_TW in order to send Chinese characters; otherwise I can’t see the characters I am sending myself (the contact receives the right characters, but I only see strange square symbols).

But specifying zh_TW means that the whole interface is changed to Chinese, and this is not what I wanted.

What are the pros and cons, Benefits and drawbacks ?
I see that Pidgin has many more downloads.
Miranda is a much smaller file size.
Pidgin, 4,763,000 total downloads.
Miranda, 548,000.

Hello boys and girls.
Okay don't get me wrong, I like Pidgin too.
I seem to like Gaim a little better, not sure why,
I have had it since I started using PortableApps.
So maybe that's why, but it works.

Is Gaim completely gone ? not being worked on as Gaim at all ?

If it's not being worked on, should I uninstall it,
or delete it ?. I find my self using both of them just to see
if I can find any real differences, and other than security
maybe, Gaim does not double up on names and wierd stuff.
