I'm using 3.2.0 now, but first experienced it with the previous version (3.1.6?).
When uploading a file that already exists on the server, I choose the rename action and append '.new' to the filename. When I click OK, I'm once again prompted with Target File Exists even though no file with that name (the one with .new tacked on the end) exists on the server. I can choose the Overwrite action this time and the file is uploaded with the .new name so this is really just an inconvenience.
My mail: luksd -.at.- misena -.dot.- edu.co
These accounts "@misena" are provided by google through gmail, and accounts use googletalk too. The issue is that I don't know how to fill up the blanks in
the "manage accounts" on pidgin
Protocol: Gmail or misena?
Username:luksd
Domain: ?
Resource:?
If anyone can help me. thanks in advance

Hi!
I have separated as far as possible the applications from the data. Therefor i have a different directory structure as maybe some of you have. Anyway, in most of the portable launchers there is a setting for the data directory. I use this setting to seperate data and application.
The portable launcher for Pidgin is not able to change the diectory for the users data. It is not possible to configure the path vie the .ini file!! Launcher does not support it!
Just a question and maybe a request...
Pidgin's site has direction for portable (using the pidgin exe renamed) so it automagically stores its data in the program folder. Why not simply make the launcher use that rather than creating the additional directory structure?
And, if possible could somebody create a launcher for me that will run Pidgin\pidgin-portable.exe without the additional path garbage please and mail it to hreality(at)gmail(dot)com.
Thanks

I migrated Miranda portable to a new install and my contact list plugin failed. So, where is it installing stuff? i still have my old drive.

Hello.
I am posting here after a few months with the same issue.
Last version I get connected to MSN is 2.4.3
If version is higher (2.5.4 is the last I tested), MSN connection
fails, with message:
Connection error from Notification server:
Reading error
All others protocols I use go fine: GTalk, ICQ, AOL, Yahoo, Jabber.
Only MSN fails (repeat: 2.4.3 go fine now too).
Any suggestion to get new version working in MSN ?
Thanks and regards
Eduardo.
Ok, looks like a new version of pidgin came out, and solved the problem of MSN address not connecting.
So, i downloaded the 2.5.4 version, opened with 7zip, and:
- overwrote all the dll in the main folder to \PidginPortable\App\Pidgin
- overwrote the folders in $_OUTDIR to corresponding folders in \PidginPortable\App\Pidgin
- renamed the pidgin.exe to pidgin-portable.exe and overwrote the one in \PidginPortable\App\Pidgin
i'm testing it, and looks like everythign is working fine, also msn protocol.
BTW it fixed also the issue of the hanging and crashing upon closing.
Hey
Starting this morning I haven't been able to log into my MSN with Pidgin. I've tried on 2 separate computers from 2 separate locations (Home and Work) and still no luck Also reinstalled Pidgin over top of old install with same result. My Google Talk and Facebook accounts still functioning without issue.
Any one else have this issue or a solution?
Error reads
'Username' disconnected
Unable to retrieve MSN Address Book
I have been using this setup for a long time now, yet last night is the first time that I notice that when I run pidgin two process start with it. Is this normal? Last I remember it was just once.
These are the processes I see in my task manager
pidgin-portable.exe
PidginPortable.exe
This is my setup.
I have pidgin installed in my PC in \My Documents\PCPortableApps\PidginPortable with a series of other portable apps which I see no reason as to why I would want to install them in my PC.
