In the instructions for copying local Pidgin settings to Pidgin Portable it says:
"Your local Pidgin settings are usually installed in C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\.Purple\. Just copy that .Purple directory to the PidginPortable\Data\settings directory and you're all set."
However, there is no such directory in Pidgin Portable. The Data folder is empty. There is a file called settings in App\DefaultData\settings, though. How do I proceed?

Get this error EVERY single time I start up Pidgin and try to connect to MSN.
This is getting ridiculous :S
Installing a New Version was a BAD idea...
Apparently regular pidgin has a -c command line argument, but the launcher doesn't support this. I want to change the settings directory to be on a truecrypted drive since the passwords are stored plaintext.
I have Miranda Portable 0.7.17 (latest) and I tried to use Ping Plugin 0.8.0.2 (latest) with it. However after putting pingplug.dll in the Plugins folder Miranda doesn't show in the taskbar. I have to kill its process. After deleting plugin's dll everything is back to normal. I don't have this problem with other plugins and portable version of Miranda.
Can anyone check if Ping Plugin works with portable Miranda?
Thank you very much in advance.
After getting spammed with 200 messages, about 20 of them become independent windows that are not in the same group. Basically, they don't even show up in the task bar. So i have to manually click YES, YES, YES, 20-30 times. After I do that, it simply crashes with an error at 0x00000010 or something like that. This happens and repeats EVERY single time.
Refer to the image... Sorry I am not getting the memory violation crash anymore, don't know why. When I get it, i'll post it in a new thread or something.
There were a couple of quick updates to Miranda - .15, .16 and .17. I noticed that .15 portable was set up a few days after the .15 application was released. I don't think there were earth-shattering changes, just said windows compatibility IIRC. But I have this general question... who does the ports to portable apps? Any user that feels like it and is capable of generating the .paf.exe?
1) How good is its MySpace support?
2) Is there a Paltalk plugin?
3) What's meant by Pidgin being so much easier to use - what's wrong with Miranda IM exactly?
4) Does anyone actually read summaries? o_ô
Would be nice if the icon showed some kind of indication if you're online in at least one protocol.
Talk about user-friendly!
I really like FileZilla for its small size, portability and ease to use. But a lot of times I'm forced to abandon it because of it's poor queue handling.
