There is a miranda and a miranda_ansi folder and they both seem to have the same stuff inside... so where do I put the plugins? Sorry if that's obvious but I'm totally new to miranda (switched from Trillian) and I couldn't find anything about this.

Hi, I've been using various PortableApps on some heavily locked down PCs and one of the things that's locked down is amending the registry.

It seems that PuTTY and therefore PuTTY Portable does need to do this in order to save anything from previous use and to avoid a warning dialog box at startup - is there anything that can be done to prevent PuTTY using the registry at all?

I have a question about accounts on Pidgin. I currently have my windows live & Facebook account set up through Pidgin. From what I understand, I will be able to chat with people on both accounts at one time, correct?

But, I do have several friends that are on other chat programs such as yahoo & ICQ. If I add them as a buddy, will I be able to chat with them even though I don't have a yahoo or ICQ account? Or would I need to create accounts in order to chat with them?

When I click a link in a message an error appears:
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel"
Anyone else have this problem?

is it really necessary to store even passwords in plain text format in the file
"drive":\winPenPack\Bin\FileZilla\Data\settings\filezilla.xml
??
I'm using Filezilla portable version 3.1.1, but as this topic is not addressed in the change log, I suppose v 3.1.2 handles pws the same way.
I think that's pretty unsafe, isn't it?

Hi Forum,

is there a way to shutdown pidgin by a "not documented" command line option?
For example i use "skype.exe /shutdown" to shutdown skype.exe from a batch file (WinXP Prof. SP3). Is there something similar avalable?

An error was encountered reading your buddy list. They have not been loaded, and the old file has been renamed to F:\PortableApps\PidginPortable\Data\settings\.purple\blist.xml~.

The program won't load up my saved aliases and saved categories for my buddies.

Why is this happening?

How can I fix this?

do not work.

Data\settings\PidginPortableSettings.ini with:

do not work, but why?
What is my fault?

Hi everyone!

I have been wondering why Miranda does not log my message history properly (am only using the portable version) to my log for some time. Today I installed a plugin which gives me some plugin information and shockingly I had to recognize Miranda does obviously save my history to my TEMP folder. I have no idea how to fix this and hope you are able to help me. I hope the attached screenshot gives you all information you need in order to fix this annoying bug:
