GIMP 2.8 requires saving to .xcf or exporting to other image formats.
A cloud scanner alert "A malicious item has been detected!" has started popping up after my last application update and pointing at a gimpportable sub-file.
Name: TrojWare.Win32.FraudPack...
Location: G:\PortableApps\GIMPPortable\App\gimp\lib\gimp\2.0\python\_gimpenums.pyd.debug
What is the best way of getting rid of the pop-up alert? I ran a scan with SuperAntiSpyware and the drive was clean so I don't believe there is a real problem. I tried hitting the ignore button in the alert window and was given the following(Ignore) choices:
"Once"
"Add to Trusted Files"
John, if you're not against, I will open a new topic for this little issue - I shouldn't have posted this in my "[Fixed] GIMP Portable 2.8.0 Rev 3 - Local Help error" topic
For some odd reason, *.tmp folders (names like nsr2D9B.tmp) are left in system %TEMP% directory.
It's not related to browsing help (as John has supposed in https://portableapps.com/node/32124#comment-194220 )
I do not open help and this still happens.
The folder is created when GIMPPortable.exe starts and contains:
launcher.ini
registry.dll
runtimedata.ini
System.dll
Is Python supported in GIMP Portable 2.8 without it having installed in Windows?
Guys, this seems to be not a GIMP Portable problem, but the GIMP itself.
I'm experiencing this issue on both local and portable versions of GIMP 2.8
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/6544/gimpnohelp.png
I've copied the help for 2.6 (the latest available for download now)
to the folder App\gimp\share\gimp\2.0\help - so my actions seem to be right.
When I go to the Preferences - Help System - General - User manual, it says "There's a local installation of the user manual.". But it doesn't work.
Please tell me - can you reproduce this error?
Updated Gimp 2.8 rev 2 from 2.8 and 2,74 Application runs well I close app and the background window will not close. I have to go to task manager to end the process gimpportablebgwindow.exe This is after I close the program from the menu within the program.
Running Win 7 64 bit full admin rights with 8 gb ram
Will try to uninstall app and reinstall it without it updating previous versions to see if issue persists
GIMPPortable 2.8.0 is leaving behind folders and files after installing and opening it. C:\Users\x\AppData\Local\fontconfig\cache\cache-3.

Apparently GIMP uses Ghostscript in order to import eps images. I have both Gimp Portable and Ghostscript Portable installed, and when I try to import an eps file in Gimp, I get a message saying Gimp couldn't find Ghostscript and to try using the environment variable GS_PROG to indicate where it is.
