Does anyone know where to get new fonts for portable GIMP? I don't believe it takes .ttf fonts.
Thanks

The \Data\settings folder does not exist until GimpPortable is run without the .ini file. This first run will create the settings folder if it is not there if you run it without the .ini file.
The error is as follows:
GIMP Portable | PortableApps.com
D:\%pathtoGIMPPortablefolder%\Data\settings was not found. Pleas check your configuration
You can also create a settings folder manually to resolve this if you're using the ini file.
Hi
Hello, I've noticed that when I open files that are inside many nested folders (my files are around 6 folders deep, some with longer names), GIMP crashes on file opening. Relocating the file to a shallower file structure allows me to open the file. Has anyone else seen this occurring? Is this a limitation with the GTK?
Hi!
I've got the problem with GIMPPortable that it doesnt even start....it hangs. It stops loading when the progress-bar at startup is about 50%....it then shows "loading Fonts"....but it doesnt finish and starts up.....it seems that it freezes...
Environment: P4 3GHz with Win XP SP2 latest updates and GIMPPortable 2.2.16 on a TrekStor USB-1GB-Stick...and I havent that much more fonts installed....
Any idea what is wrong here?
Thx for any answers,
Regards, Sven
GIMP portable works okay for editing images already saved as standard image files on my computer.
I am running Windows XP Professional and I have two different (Microtek and Hewlett-Packard) flatbed scanners I use at different times to acquire document images.
When I try to use the 'File-Acquire-TWAIN' function to acquire images with either scanner connected and turned on, a small window titled 'Select Source (Not Responding)' appears and GIMP locks up.
When I select the red 'X' in the upper right corner of the small window, an error message appears:

I haven't been able to get gimp 2.2 to start at all.
After installation, when I try to start it, I get an Application Error window that says
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application.
This is the same on both my Win XP and Vista machines.
Okay, so what am I doing wrong? I have installed at least a couple, if not more, versions of GIMP on my USB drive but to date have not been able to get it to run. It starts, getting as far as Fonts and Search For Data, and then hangs. And no amount of swearing will get it any further.
Anyone have any ideas?
Cheers!

Is there any way to get GIMP Portable to launch gimp-win-remote.exe from the launcher?
I'm working on a portable version of Scribus (yes, I know it's been done) and it needs a path to gimp-remote.exe (I assume, gimp-win-remote.exe on Windows).
Oh, and should I store GhostScript within CommonFiles?

Recently I updated to the latest GimpPortable using the auto install method through PAM. This is not the problem, it worked flawlessly and all of my settings were retained The question I have however, is if this method is recommended for all applications, particularly gimp because...
