FFP 3.6 Prefs.js

Submitted by arizona480 on May 5, 2010 - 3:50pm

Pretty sure I eliminated the extensions as being a factor, but removing the prefs.js file fixes the problem of the everything in the browser disappearing and leaving only the viewing window and the tabs.

Unfortunately my client did a lot of custom stuff (without making a copy of the profile folder recently) that is recorded in that file, so my question is:

not changing path for helper apps

Submitted by dimiz on April 29, 2010 - 2:59pm

I am trying to make portable firefox open pdf files with pdfXchange viewer. I have tried to follow the instructions on the site, added pdfXchange as an app for pdfs, and it worked. Then to test it, I moved the whole directory structure to another directory (relative path between firefox and pdfXchange remained the same) and it stopped working. Is there any way to make it work with relative paths?

I've received notification that my re-zipping of the Gears for Win32 binaries has been moved from Experimental to Public status. Read on for more details on how it works, or if you're in a hurry you can get it here:

Slow Start From Non-Portable Drive

Submitted by Firefairy on April 20, 2010 - 4:11pm

I am currently testing applications before transferring them to my flash drive. Even after the initial "install" load, Firefox Portable takes several minutes to load.

The test directory housing all the files I intend to transfer to my flash drive is on my Desktop. I am running Vista, with privileges. My installed version of FF loads lightning-fast, even with addons and history and such. I did all the performance improving tips listed on the FFP page, which sped it up from about 5 minutes to 2-3 minutes to load. Once FFP loads, it runs fine.

What am I missing?

Firefox 3.6.3 Portable and Hiren's Mini Windows XP

Submitted by JohSeg on April 18, 2010 - 9:10am

If I boot with Mini Windows XP on Hiren's BootCD 10.1 I can't download files. Browsing is no problems. In the Downloads window (Ctrl+J) I get an Canceled-message. The same thing if I try to save an picture. But if I use an old version of Firefox (1.something) that already is installed on the HDD (of course still using Hiren's Mini Windows XP) everything works great. How come?

I've to boot with Hiren's Mini Windows XP because of HDD boot failure.

Sorry for my bad English Smile
