Firefox Portable

Hi,

It's been less than a week that I am using the portable version of firefox (3.6.6). Now I am wondering how the hack did I live without it!

But the portability has created some problems from me. Back in the old days I always fiddled with the files in firefox temp folder. I know it's lame and old fashioned, but it has already saved my ass more times than I feel comfortable to admit.

I have been all over the folders to find it, but yet remained unsuccessful.

Anybody care to help?

Firefox 4.0beta 1 has been released! It would be great if somebody could create a portable version, for betatesters and others...

Hi, I get often this crash! Description: DummyWindowless: plugin-container.exe the instruction at location 0x7c90100b refers to memory address 0x00000030. The memory can not read.
Do you have some solution or explanation of this problem? Or have I to use still the old version 3.6.3?

I know that there's no support for developer previews and nightly builds but I want to ask if it's possible to fix the current nightly build which is avaiable as portable app. Even if I run the installer it crashes while downloading the latest nightly build showing up the following message:

The installer was unable to download Current Minefield Trunk Build.
The installation of the portable app will be incomplete without it.
(ERROR: File Not Found (404))

Hello. I want to know how to change icon in firefox portable. I try to change all icons in FirefoxPortable\App\AppInfo but nothing happens. Please help.

This may be a silly question or sound elementary. I use Win XP SP3. Can I run portable apps like Open Office, Abiword, etc from USB drive on an Apple computer?

Can I rename FirefoxPortable folder without side effects? For example, rename to FirefoxPortable 3.5.9., then install a newer version of FirefoxPortable to folder FirefoxPortable?

Actually this is not part of the FAQ, so bear with my question.

I was happy with FF portable 3.5.9. where I run 50+ add ons without problem. I then decided to upgrade to 3.6.3. Here is what I did:

1. Make a safe copy of FirefoxPortable to FirefoxPortable 3.5.9.

2. Unzip the firefox portable 3.6.3. and dump it to the existing FirefoxPortable folder
