Old version : Portable Firefox 1.0????

Submitted by parjf01 on March 2, 2010 - 1:49pm

Hi,
Is it possible to have the download link for "Firefox Portable 1.0"? Not 1.0.8 in the "Legacy Versions" section really 1.0!
I need the "Firefox Portable 1.0" for my old internal system that required by "JInitiator 1.3.1.22" to properly work. It is only compatible with Firefox version 1.0. I want the portable version of Firefox to be able to upgrade my PC with Firefox 3.5 full version.

correct profile

Why does Windows XP insist on opening firefox.exe and some default profile instead of FirefoxPortable.exe and the correct profile. This problem seems to be linked to having three different sets of 'profile' and 'plugins' directories within FirefoxPortable.

Hello! My questions are rather theoretical than practical, as it is possible to make things work without solving the following 2 problems, but still...

I have 2 questions:
1) Related to Firefox 3.6 Portable (Sorry if it was discussed earlier, but I failed to find any solution...)

Running a self contained website with FFP from USB

Submitted by Gideon on February 26, 2010 - 4:59am

Some help and advice please !

I am trying to run a mini website direct from USB stick - BUT I want it to open with FFP [installed on the stick] no matter which PC I plug into.

It is basically an educational tool which will be used by 'non-techies' - and relies on various plugins which all need to be installed on the stick too - so it 'just works'

Any ideas please?

Thanks,

G

I can't log into anything in Firefox

Submitted by jweb05 on February 25, 2010 - 10:14am

I can't log into any of my accounts it seems with the exception of this one. Gmail, newegg, ebay, delicious, facebook, etc. all wont log in on firefox. I go to the home pages and then click the login button but then it does nothing and just sits there and acts like its constantly loading. I never actually get to the log in screen. I have tried the trick of typing about:config and changing the "network.http.sendRefererHeader" to 1, mine was set at 2, and that still didn't do anything.

Firefox Port won't save bookmarks

Submitted by decemberist on February 23, 2010 - 3:57pm

Okay, so forgive me if I sound like a total idiot, this is my first time posting on here and I'm not exactly a genius when it comes to computers. I do my best, though.

Anyway,
I just recently updated my firefox portable to the newest version and now it won't save any new bookmarks and I lost my (stumbleupon)toolbar and I can't get it to reinstall.

Quite confused about Firefox auto-updating

Submitted by BuckDanny on February 21, 2010 - 8:14pm

Mozilla has released Firefox 3.5.8 on 17/02/2010 (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.5.8/releasenotes/). Usually, PA.c publishes a paf-version within one or two days, but not this time. Which brings me to re-consider the question of whether Firefox can be allowed to auto-update itself (i.e. updating from within Firefox). For a long time, it was made quite clear to users that they shouldn't use auto-update, but download the new .paf from PA.c instead. In fact, all the key support pages still claim that.
