Protocol (or file) Association

Lets say I have Thunderbird Portable and Firefox Portable. Both works fine. At least when both apps are running. When I click links (www.justexample.com) in Thunderbird it calls another FFoxPortable window. Great. When I click a file test.html on my desktop - it works the same way.

Now, I shut down FireFoxPortable. Click again test.html on my desktop or www.justexample.com in external application. Firefox opens, but bypassing "portable" loader and I got wrong profile.

portable takes over plugins

Submitted by ottosykora on May 20, 2012 - 6:31am

To day I noticed, that when I open portable firefox 12, the plugins are used by this, hat is OK.

However, when I close the portable firefox properly, the plugins should be given back to the local installed one.
But this does not happen and all remains disabled in the local firefox until I reboot.

I do not remamber to have had this problem earlier.

flash freezes firefox after a couple seconds

Submitted by spanktastic2120 on May 18, 2012 - 5:55pm

any flash content will run for a couple seconds and then firefox freezes, if the content has audio the audio will continue to play for quite a while after. terminating plugin-container.exe makes firefox responsive again and produces the standard crashed plugin message.

if i restart in safe mode all flash content works fine, but if i just disable every addon myself it does the same freezing thing. i cant figure this out, any help?

im using the latest firefox and flash.

Persistence of SSL certificates for internal sites

Submitted by daluu on May 16, 2012 - 1:26pm

Does anyone have issues with persistence of SSL certificates imported into portable Firefox for use with internal sites (to not need to accept certificates each time visit internal site)?

I notice it doesn't seem to persist compared to regular FF installation, or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

How do I set the tab bar to be besides the Fx menu button when Fx' window is maximized? (v12 installer changed my UI layout)

How do I set the tab bar to be besides the Firefox menu button when Firefox' window is maximized?

I.e. How do I set this: http://i.imgur.com/Mkyvz.png to be like this: http://i.imgur.com/ZvxJS.png ?

This happens on Firefox Portable v12. Its tab bar layout changed when I upgraded to Firefox 12 from 11 through the Fx Portable installer.

This happens even when Firefox' window is maximized. I tried customizing the toolbar but can't seem to find the proper arrangement.

Steps I already tried (but didn't work):
Toggling the restore/maximize Window button

[SOLVED] App. 20 secs delay in every connection with Firefox Portable 12 on Windows 7 64 bit

Submitted by ertalpius on May 16, 2012 - 3:56am

Hello,

I don't have this problem on my Windows XP SP3 netbook. On my more powerful HP Pavilion 64 bit Windows 7 computer, Firefox portable version 12, which is located on the local NTFS hard drive (not on a USB drive), delays in the beginning of every connection at least 20 seconds. Then suddenly it loads the page normally. It looks like in the beginning of each connection attempt something prevents it from loading the page for a long time.

Running it as administrator or making all main and subfolders not read only did not solve this issue...

Portable Firefox 12.0

Submitted by SpaceCadet on May 2, 2012 - 8:48pm

I currently have Portable Firefox 11.0 on my machine. I downloaded version 12.0 last night but when I tried to install it just as I did since version 3.6, it gave me the error that the path is not valid. This is the same directory that I have been using since version 3.6 (c:\program files\applications\internet applications\portable mozilla firefox). I tried to copy the file into the directory and tried to install it from there, but I still got the same error. Does anyone have the same error or know how I can fix this problem? I don't want to install fresh and lose all of my setting.
