Chaning plain text to HTML

Submitted by _Shadow_ on December 16, 2007 - 7:37am

Okay, well I'm not sure if I'm right about the plain text and HTML part, but I think I am. Correct me if I'm way off, please Blum

Well, isn't it right that when composing an e-mail you do so in plain text, right? But you can change it to HTML though? I would like to know how to do that. Could anyone please tell me, pretty please?
Also, could you list the different e-mail hosting providers that use HTML and the others that use plain text?

Download everything gmail Thunderbird

Submitted by innomen on December 15, 2007 - 1:57am

Hello, I would like to use thunderbird to download everything it can get it's hands on in my gmail account so that I can delete my gmail archive, and still have my offline backup.

Believe it or not this marks the first serious attempt to use smtp mail so if my question is silly please forgive.

I can connect just fine, but it only loads 250 messages or so at a time, and i have to move them to an archive folder i've made and then recheck and it loads another 250. also they are moving fast, i'm not sure it is downloading the whole message and i'm sure its not getting attachments.

Items reappearing in inbox

Submitted by BarrB on December 14, 2007 - 4:53pm

I have the odd problem that 92 items previously moved or deleted from my inbox repeatedly (but not always) keep reappearing in the inbox. It´s always the same 92! Those that have been moved are all still in their proper location, so the worst thing that can happen is that I end up with lots of duplicate copies, but it´s a bit weird and a bit of a nuisance.

Anyone got any ideas?

It says there's an email but there isn't

Submitted by zip_000 on December 11, 2007 - 8:38pm

Ok, this is pretty weird, but Thunderbird portable says that there is an unread email in my inbox, but there isn't.

It started doing this when I (accidentally) unplugged my usb drive without closing the application.

I've tried reinstalling, but it still says that there is an email in there.

So, do I have to live with a perpetual phantom email? Or is there an answer?

Thanks!

Is this a bug?

Please have a look at his screenshots. The files inside my ThunderbirdPortable directory are a bit messed up.

This is the main folder ThunderbirdPortable\:

And this is ThunderbirdPortable\Data\Profile\:

You see, there are some files within the main folder which there really should not.

Spamato

Thunderbird without Spamato it's a pain...

Well, I've been testing it and it works on Portable Thunderbird. The problem is that it needs Java (we can tell Spamato where the javaw.exe is). So any way to install Java in the portable device? Or any other solution?

Regards.

Profile don't work right after upgrade to 2.0.0.9

Submitted by Franz49 on December 8, 2007 - 7:19am

Hi anyone!
I upgraded my previous version to the last.
Now all my settings are away, including my mails. The Folder I still see, but there are no mails into - I checked also the .js files, I can't understand few of the entrys.
If I check by Explorer, I can find my mail and setting files but Thunderbird dont use they. Can anyone give me informations about the right structure where the different setting and mailfiles must be located? What kind of system is used to setup the right paths and settings, there exists more .ini files - I don't know the right one.
