No PortableApp Will Run - All Open My Documents

Submitted by rcullet on December 26, 2007 - 8:13pm

Don't know what I did (I'm new to this) but none of my apps will run. They all open the my documents folder.

Even the suite itself wouldn't run. I reinstalled it and the menu pops up.

I reinstalled thunderbird but the icon is still missing and even trying to open some of it's subfolders call up the My Documents folder.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rick Culleton

Upgrade notice for "Thunderbird" should not be sent to the "Thunderbird Portable" users.

I switched from the regular "Thunderbird 2.0.0.6" to "Thunderbird Portable 2.0.0.6" a few months ago, then I received an upgrade notice to 2.0.0.9. I first thought it would be for "Thunderbird Portable 2.0.0.6," so I clicked [YES] to upgrade, then I happened to think it might have meant for the regular "Thunderbird." I went trhough the forum to try to find out whether the 2.0.0.9 upgrade would be compatible with "Thunderbird Portable 2.0.0.6," and sure enough I found some members were experiencing problems with add-ons.

I cannot delete message received on my U3 Key

Submitted by Jochris on December 25, 2007 - 12:55pm

I cannot delete message received with Thunderbird installed on my 4GB Cruzer U3 USB Key. When I try to delete a message I receive the following Alert:

The messages could not be moved or copied to folder ‘Trash’ because writing to folder failed. To gain disk space, from the File menu, first choose Empty Trah, and then choose Compact Folders, and then try again.

I have a lot of space on disk and an Empty Trash and I compact my folders every day
All Thunderbird’s I use on my PC & NB work fine but not on my U3 Key!
Any idea?

Hello,

I have installed Thunderbird on the flash disk using Ceedo software. I could run it only few times without any problem but now I am unable to even run TB and got this message:

Could anyone of help me ? I even havent found the file messenger.xul on my harddisk...I am not sure if this could be because of any other program installed or why Sad Im using TB, FF 2.0.0.9 portable version.

I use PortableApps mostly at work and am grateful for the convenience of accessing my email through Thunderbird Portable. My one query, and I couldn't get the right answer searching through here, was if it's possible to make URL links within emails open in Firefox Portable instead of my PC's default browser.

Since it is a work PC, the default browser is IE and I can't change that.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and keep up the fantastic work!
