Thunderbird Portable

Not really a bug, but still a bit annoying (2.0.0.9)

Submitted by betaman on December 1, 2007 - 8:00am

I set the portable thunderbird as my default email client. When I click on an email link on a web page (Firefox 2.0.0.10), Thunderbird launches as expected, but it also activates the new account setup wizard, which closes Thunderbird unless I go ahead with creating a new account.

If Thunderbird is already launched before I click on an email link, then I don't get this problem.

Transferring Thunderbird Profile to Thunderbird Portable

Submitted by aoniumo on November 30, 2007 - 4:34pm

The guide on this link in the support section does not work:
https://portableapps.com/support/thunderbird_portable#local_profile

I have two profiles in regular thunderbird and they both have the names
XPC.mfl
XUL.mfl

They are in separate folders. When I copy the contents of one .default folder into the profile folder in Thunderbird Portable and then open THunderbird portable program, there is no profile there.

How do I resolve this? Thank you,

Two problems after transferring profile - Solved

Submitted by PhoenixRising on November 30, 2007 - 7:32am

I'm new to PortableApps and I love 'em.

Set up TBird and copied my profile from Thunderbird to PortableTB. When I restarted PortableTB I noticed two problems.

First, there is a red message at the bottom of the Thunderbird window - menu id="offlineMenuItem" insertafter="trashMenuSeparator" label="&offlineMenu.label;" accesskey="offlineMenu.accesskey;"----^. I have no idea where to start looking for the problem.

I've been having that problem for weeks. I've lost my Inbox emails 4 or 5 times already. It just shows me all of a sudden an empty Inbox..... and all my e-mails dissapear

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance

Running Thunderbird through a Proxy-Server

Submitted by buschwo on November 22, 2007 - 3:32am

I'm running Thunderbird portable and Firefox portable through a Proxy-Server, which requires a user-ID and password on every internet access. Firefox does this perfectly, Thunderbird doesn't do and only returns "failed to connect to pop3 Server". Is there any way to adjust this with about:config?
Thanks for help.

Setting account trouble

Submitted by Wessun on November 22, 2007 - 3:19am

Hi,

I migrated recently from portable Thunderbird by Framakey (Let's call it A) to the same by PortableApps ( as B).
The only way I found to keep my profile was to copy the whole previous profile folder from A to the profile location in B.
I now run B fine, except that I'm unable to set new user account. I can open the Account settings, but cannot validate my choices (the OK button doesn't answer, but the cancel is OK) and therefore set any new account or changes to previous account.
