Thunderbird Portable

How can I open TB Portable from USB-Stick on Linux (EeePC)? And how can I transfer my TB portable to the EeePC?

Submitted by M.Franken on July 21, 2008 - 12:10pm

Can anyone help me?

I'm not a PC professional so I would be grateful for any easy step-by-step advise.

I finally found the folder manager on the EeePC - is it possible that it doesn't work because e.g. the thunderbird address book on the PC has the ending ".xpt" and the TB portable on my USB stick ".mab"

I really appreciate any advise!

Thunderbird Profile Suddenly Missing

Submitted by reudaly on July 18, 2008 - 9:47am

I'm using Thunderbird Portable while my main computer is being fixed. It's worked fine for weeks now -- both on XP and Vista. I'm currently running on a machine with XP Pro.

Today, I opened up the application, and my profile was GONE. The app wanted me to create a new email account. I have the profile folder and all seems fine, but it's just not reading it.

What can I do to fix this?

Accounts not made

I use TB on desktop + laptop, and installed it on a USB-stick that came with the U3 system for portable applications.
I liked that, but decided tu use the more open system "Portable Apllications".
Firefox worked immediately. Thunderbird can be started, but on creating the accounts nothing is saved, the row of mail accounts stays completely empty...
What now?

Compose mail in second instance of thunderbird

Submitted by togarha on July 17, 2008 - 7:41am

Hi,

I use standard thunderbird for work and thunderbird portable for personal use in the same PC.

When I want to compose a mail with a file, for work I use:
right buttons --> send to --> mail

If I want to make another shortcut for personal mail, how can I make that?

I try to use the command line option to thunderbird portable as that:

\thunderbirdportable\app\thunderbird\thunderbird.exe -compose

but it open a compose mail for work account...

Thanks in advance...

Regards,

Older Versions - we still use 'em!

I notice that you provide a link to 3 older versions of Firefox Portable for use by folks using older equipment, and for diagnostics.
Considering there is a lot of interest in Portable T-bird 1.5.0.14, and almost no place to find it, how about some old version links here?

I love FileHippo's way of posting the very latest, and still making every past version available. PortableApps would get a lot more following if you did the same.

TB portable doesn't work on tablet pc w/ Vista

Submitted by nfs13 on July 11, 2008 - 1:11pm

Hi,
I've been a user of portableapps for about 3 years and never had a problem with any of the software; in fact it's been absolutely lifesaving for me.

What happens is that i was just now trying to get TB portable to work on my new tablet pc and it gives a message like: "couldn't initialize browser's security component. Most likely cause is problems with the files in your browser profile's directory..."
