Portable Thunderbird 1.5 problem

Submitted by Thunderbirdie on November 16, 2007 - 10:58am

Hello,
Can anyone help me with this:
After a windows xp crash, I can't access to my emails stored with TB.
In fact, Thunderbird opens, shows empty windows, and after a few seconds, closes itself without showing any emails.
PTB is installed on a portable HDD.
The appliaction path is:
K:\Framakey\programs\PortableThunderbird 15\profile\Mail\pop.xyz.net for example.
If there is a directory called "perso", i have these files:
- perso (without any extension) containing probably the emails - it has a very big size - some Mbits,
- perso.msf which size is small - approx. 100 or 200 kbits

Now Ive gone and done it .. cannot update help needed please....

I am running Thunderbird Portable v2.0.0.6
And just had a pop up box saying there’s an
Update available to v2.0.0.9, so I clicked
Download.. after the download had finished
A notice came on screen saying..

Update failed
The partial update could not be applied

Thunderbird will try to download a complete
Update..

When the complete update download
Was finished it says that it could not
Download the update and to go to
the main update web site.

Ive tried this also but still not been able to
Complete the download, but ive managed to download

Connecting to GMail

Submitted by kcymp on November 14, 2007 - 9:15pm

I recently installed TB portable on a USB drive. I set it up to connect to a GMail account. When I start TB portable, it tries to connect to pop.gmail.com, but the connection always times out. When I use the normal versin of TB installed on my laptop, it connects to GMail without problem. How can I make the connection smoothly with TB portable?

Run Thunderbird e-mail through SSL VPN

We are trying to launch PortableApps suit (specifically Mozila Thunderbird e-mail version 2.0.0.6) from USB thumb drive over Juniper's SSL VPN. We connect through SSL VPN utilizing Juniper's Secure Virtual Workspace (SVW) mode (SVW creates a protected workspace on the user's desktop, encrypts information that applications write to disk and then destroys all information pertaining to itself).

Couldn't see some attachments from OE

Hi, recently I try Thunderbird Portable, it's great Biggrin but I have a problem with some attachments envoys from Outlook Express. It's doesn't appear, but if I "save as" the mail, and open the saved mail with O.E. I can see that the attachments are OK. Same mail in the icedove (ex-Thunderbird) of my Debian SID GNU/Linux are OK.
