Command Line Issue Continues

Submitted by tappet on September 28, 2007 - 4:48pm

I'm trying to use Toucan to backup some files automatically at work, and I'm getting some curious results.

Instead of backing up the source folder, it creates a backup of the target folder withing the target folder, and hangs in the process.

I did search the forums, and as a result of that search I am using the latest beta (PR4). I thought that the command line issues were resolved in this beta. Is that something that's still being worked on, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks, as always,

Tappet

Mirroring

Submitted by Riverstorm on September 27, 2007 - 1:28am

I am having an issue with the mirroring function in version 1.1.2. I created two folders on my desktop and added one file to the source folder and two files to the destination folder. When I run sync with mirror it will NOT delete the second file in the destination folder.

Splash Screen

Is there any way to disable the splash screen. Normally with the portable apps on this site you just have to edit an .ini file, but I couldn't find any file or any way to disable the splash screen.

Paths to popular apps

I'm trying to work out the paths to some popular apps.
I was hoping to find this in the readme; as syncing might be one of the primary uses of this application.

If someone knows it by hand, please do post it. I will do my best to find them out myself to.
I'm looking for
pidgin
firefox
thunderbird
and others Wink

Sync Hard-Deleted My Files

Submitted by Coops on September 21, 2007 - 10:50pm

Here is the scenario, I downloaded Toucan today:

I had a folder on my Portable Drive that I wanted to Sync (mirror) with the folder on my PC.

The primary working folder in the future was going to be the one on my computer, but currently all the data was on the drive. So, in the SYNC TAB, I set the

Source: MyPC\Work (currently empty)
Destination: PortableDrive\Work

I then clicked MIRROR and PREVIEW, and GO.

1 hour difference

Submitted by LuP on September 20, 2007 - 7:11am

Hello,

how does Toucan work with files when summer/winter time changes? I mean - windows change file time attributes, so such files look different due time but are the same.

How about to ignore 1 hour time differences, maybe when other attributes, e.g. file size, stay unchanged?
