Issue

I posted about my situation over on John T. Haller suggested I try something and then post a new thread if I the issue persists. But, even though it did not, I'm quite frankly flabbergasted at that fact and so am posting this because I'd like to see what you may think might have been the/a cause. This was the thread snippet between Haller and me:

Is Format -> Styles and Formatting F11 working?

Submitted by u21832 on September 4, 2015 - 6:03pm

I did the following:

  1. Opened a new text document: File -> New -> Text Document. This seem to work.
  2. Then I tried to use styles and Formatting: Format -> Styles and Formatting F11. But noting happens. I didn't get a styles window, and seem to be exactly where I was before.

I am using LibreOfficePortable_5.0.0_Rev_2_MultilingualStandard.

How do we install OFFLINE HELP for LibreOffice v. 5.x

Submitted by dforion on August 30, 2015 - 9:40pm

I tried searching but I see no search facility here.

There are two earlier solutions, one referring to CAB files, but there are no CAB files in LibreOffice_5.0.1_Win_x86_helppack_en-US.msi offline help from LO.

The other solution is a poorly written homemade installer and freezes in Windows 7 x32 so bad the process cannot be killed, either via Windows Task Manager nor SysInternals Process Explorer... Looks like only a reboot will get rid of it.

Can someone please post CLEAR and TESTED instructions on how to install Offline Help for V.5x of LibreOffice?

What is the state of LibreOffice support for non capable SSE2, only SSE capable, CPU?

Submitted by u21832 on August 10, 2015 - 9:52am

My old machine's CPU supports only SSE, not SSE2. In the past, this issue prevented that CPU from running newer LibreOffice releases. There were attempts to fix the problem, and enable such CPUs to run newer LibreOffice releases. As far as I know, the provided solutions were only partial. Is this issue fully fixed with version 5?

error with superscripts

Submitted by jcruzate on July 7, 2015 - 8:21am

Hi all, i have found some errors with superscripts, in reality I can make superscripts.
For example I have the following expression

Ag^{}

and the result is correct except by an interrogation sign, i.e. I get g¿ as superscript, for me this is an indication than formula editor have something missing.
Any idea?
I use windows8.1, but I think this is not important
best regards
Juan

Install Failure "Extract: error writing to file _0.cfs"

Submitted by user8865 on June 25, 2015 - 12:47pm

I've been using libre portable for years. Never an install problem
(either fresh or upgrade installs). Last working install I have is:

4.3.5.2, multilingualStandard, "remove languages" option,
installing to "j:\" (root of a partition)
windows xp, sp3

Today I have tried installing both 4.4.3 and 4.4.2,
both have install errors.
