Can't recover documents after crash

Submitted by mattbolivia on May 13, 2020 - 12:08pm

After a crash (or windows update reboot), Libreoffice is unable to recover previously open files. It says recover file is corrupted or not found. I have looked in the libreoffice temp folder and confirmed that there are files there, but they have zero size. Has anyone experienced this problem and is there any known fix?

This is using the latest version of windows 10 where Libreoffice is installed on an alternate partition of the main drive (not on a USB stick). The temp folder is on the main C:\ drive partition.

Thank you.

Portable Help files

Submitted by DADSGETNDOWN on May 12, 2020 - 12:49am

I seen one post about the help files, but says to install them on local machine then copy to portable. I don't have it local and don't want to. How do I get the help files and or tutorials if any, to my portable version ? I downloaded the .msi but that's local/windows right?

LibreOffice Strange Behavior

Submitted by Motim on March 13, 2020 - 5:53am

Hello,
Recently noticed strange behavior of "LibreOffice":
Created two 'Calc Spreadsheet' files (with "LibreOffice"). Created, Modified and saved in range of several minutes. However in the explorer folders / files list the time stamps are different. See attached screen shot which contains: 1.Properties of one file. 2. Screen shot two lines from windows file explorer. (I do not see where can I attach the screen shot, please guide me)
"LibreOffice" version 6.4.1.2.
"Office Studet" also installed.
System win 10 1809 x64, time setting is OK.

Newest Portable Apps LibreOffice hangs at 50%

Submitted by robertcampbell on March 2, 2020 - 10:00am

This is my first post so I just want to first say Hello Everyone and I have been using PortableApps for awhile now and for the most part I really like it. Thanks to all the People that work on this site and the apps.

Now onto the not so great part ......

The newest version of LibreOffice hangs at 50% and will not finish install. Not sure why or what I can do about it but I use LibreOffice often enough that I kinda need this to work again.

Incomplete download

Submitted by janvr0 on February 24, 2020 - 5:55pm

The current installed version is the Dutch LibreOffice version 6.4.0.3 (x86).
I think it's the latest version however when I start the platform I'm being asked to update LibreOffice.
When I do so (several times) I get this message:
"The downloaded copy of LibreOffice is not valid and can't be installed. Due to either an incomplete download or a networkproblem. Try to update again."
It starts downloading a small file (help files?) and stops then it starts again for a bigger file and then I get the error message

Updater not working for LibreOffice 6.4.0

Submitted by fsorganizing on February 22, 2020 - 6:28pm

I installed this today on my thumb drive and it installed properly. I opened the word doc app and did a test doc and that worked fine. Then, after I closed LibreOffice it asked me if I wanted to install an update. However, it hung up halfway thru and didn't finish the update. How can I get a successful update completed?

[Fixed] LibreOffice 6.4 missing German proofing tools.

Submitted by Anton_D on February 12, 2020 - 5:15pm

Hi,

I sorry to have to inform you that Spanish UI isn‘t only thing that is missing in new package. Probably because of the same change in the usual installer row order the German proofing tools are also not on board. The workaround right now: download the complete (big) package and put the folder “dict-de” from the “App\libreoffice\share\extensions” in the installation file (could be opened with 7-zip) into the same folder of your installation.
