Installing FileZilla

Submitted by tlchost on August 14, 2006 - 9:03am

I'm beginning to doubt my own sanity. Have been unable to get either 2.2.26a or previous version to work.....

I installed it in the usb drive in PortableApps/FileZillaPortable and copied the launcher to /PortableApps when I run the launcher I get Filezilla.exe not found

What do I change where to get it to play right?

I currently have version 2.2.22 installed in PortableApps/PortableFilezilla and the launcher for that application works fine.

Using portable ClamWin AV as the virus scanner of Miranda IM on removable drive

Submitted by airweb on August 10, 2006 - 9:24am

It works fine when i put the absolute path in the virus scanner command line for the received files, like

"G:\PortableApps\ClamWin\App\clamwin\bin\clamscan.exe"

"G:\PortableApps\Miranda" this is where the Miranda IM located,

i tried to replace the drive letter by using "..\..\PortableApps\ClamWin\App\clamwin\bin\clamscan.exe"

coz i would like to change the absolute path to a relative path to ensure that it'd work on other pc.

Somehow, it doesn't work Sad

Pidgin: userprofile setting not working in 2.0b

Submitted by cyphunk on August 3, 2006 - 10:07am

I moved PortableGaim.ini from the PortableGAIMCode directory into the same directory as the PortableGaim.exe sits as directed in the readme. I set the Userprofile directive in the ini to be "userprofile". I created this directory. But still, when I run the app and make accounts it always stores them in settings/.gaim

ideas?

I would like to be able to run a 2nd instance of gaim using a different account profile entirely (meaning, two different instances with different msn/aim/icq accounts in each)

thanks

Difference between "normal" miranda.zip and "portable miranda" ?

Submitted by IcePick on July 29, 2006 - 1:49pm

I wonder what the difference is between the "normal" miranda and its portable
counterpart.

As you know there is not only a Miranda installer exe but a simple
zip archive as well.

If I extract this simple zip archive all necessary files are available
and I can run Miranda out of the box (even from an USB Stick).

So why do I need a special "portable Miranda" version ?

Miranda 0.5 has been released.

With the 0.5 release, Miranda IM introduces Unicode support, to further improve integration into multi-language systems. Available now are 2 separate download options. The Unicode version is available for Windows NT, 2000, and XP users and a non-Unicode version is available for Windows 9x and ME users. Another new feature of this release is the introduction of AIM Oscar. This provides users with the ability to transfer files and receive away messages that previous versions did not support. This release also increases the support for avatars among many of the protocols. Along with plenty of bug fixes and new features, we hope you will find Miranda IM 0.5 a satisfying release.
