I just downloaded Gimp Portable 2.6.1.
Using Edge-Detect->Difference of Gaussians... results in the layer becoming entirely transparent. This even shows up in the preview window. If I uncheck Invert, it will preview properly, but will still erase the entire layer when I run the operation.

Is this a known defect? Is this where I report bugs?

Hi, when right-clicking a file in windows explorer, chosing "Open with... GIMP", the file won't open and an error occurs. Also when GIMP is already running, same problem.

Is that due to the configuration of MY computer or is that a common problem ?

Interesting how fast the Windows 2.6.1 version came out...actually at the same time as Gimp 2.6.1.........wow

Only problem so far is opening long menus such as Filters..it is hard to move down and make selections...jumps off menu....very bad....

Well, found the problem....the Background Window is causing the cursor jumping off the menu.....remover the Background Window and Mouse,Cursor and Menu selection was back to normal.....

I was just looking at other sites around & saw that GIMP for Windows made the jump from 2.4.7 to 2.6.0 TODAY (like all the other developers of GIMP).

For those who use GIMP or have GIMP Portable... keep an eye out for an update!

Every time i start GIMP it freezes and i have to start it again.
Does anyone have a solution for this??

I've the following problem:

All works fine, but if I want to add text to my picture and klick on the "A"-Button this errors come:

First:

Pango-ERROR **: Unable to open font file C:/WINDOWS/font/DejaVuSans.ttf for font DejaVu Sans 16, exiting aborting...

Second:

Runtime Error!

Program: H:\PortableApps\GIMPPortable\App\gimp\bin\gimp-2.4.exe

I can use the gimp portable edition fine for a short period of time but after about 30 minutes of working in it, it seems to freeze up (all gimp windows and documents). It doesn't give me the opportunity to save at this point and I end up loosing 30 minutes of work. It's happened 3 times in the past 2 days. (1.5 hrs work lost).

Does anyone have any ideas how I should start troubleshooting?

Could it be possible to put the help file separated by language? I shudder with the idea of downloading the whole file.

Is there an English only portable help file for GIMP? If so, what is the URL?

GIMP always encounter errors. Then it close by itself when i do work on GIMP.
