Hi,
I need some clarification. When I update GIMP to 2.6.3 do I also need to update the GIMP Portable Photoshop Layout add-on and the GIMP Portable Background Window add-on?
Thanks for your help,
Al ............
When starting up GimpPortable 2.6.2, Spyware Doctor gives an "High Risk Level" popup with the following report:
Threat Name - Adware.Agent.BN Details - Spyware Doctor has blocked an application attempting to access a file. Risk Level - High Infection - C:\PROGRAM FILES\PORTABLE APPS PLATFORM\PORTABLEAPPS\GIMPPORTABLE\APP\GIMP\BIN\LIBCROCO-0.6-3.DLL
Why would LIBCROCO-0.6-3.DLL report Adware? It wasn't there with previous releases and I cant get it removed. Blocking it with Spyware Doctor doesn't seem to affect Gimp's stability.
Hello boys and Girls.
What I want to do is make a simple Speech, Idea, Thought
Type bubble, then put text in it.
One or all (if we know how to do the different ones)
the above would work.
Like a light bulb, or
Blowing a bubble with Gum would be perfect.
It does not have to be perfect.
But I don't want a rectangle, or just a oval or elipse.
What is the right way to do this ?
OH, P.S. (If you know)
Do Jpg's retain the "Print size" information you can add ?
I installed GIMp Portable to my 32GB OCZ ATV pen drive. I have a number of other portable apps on here, including your VideoLAN portable (not the latest - waiting for more reported stability)
Anyway, two of your apps simply won't launch, whether I call for them from PStart or go directly to them in windows explorer and double click them. The two are GIMP Portable and Celestia Portable.
Trying to launch them simply does nothing. I get a microsecond of hourglass, then nothing. They don't show up in task manager. They never launch.
GIMP 2.6.2 has officially be released today (Oct. 30th), but the Windows version has been published yet. Pretty much just more bug fixes... if anybody cares.
I tried to save a copied section as a pattern earlier today, and got an error. I'm running this particular version as a Portable App, so it could be an issue with that...the error I get is:
Error: Procedure execution of file-pat-save failed: Could not open 'F:\GIMPPortable\Data\settings/patterns/mypattern5.pat' for writing: No such file or directory.
I notice there are backslashes and forward slashes in that file directory. Is that the problem, or how should I go about fixing this? Thanks in advance for your help.
Edit: I'm running 2.6.1
I can't seem to get the GIMP help files to work. They installed fine, but GIMP doesn't seem to know where they are - did I put them in the wrong place?
They are at: \PortableApps\GIMPPortable\help
There's another help folder at: \PortableApps\GIMPPortable\Other\Help
Thanks for any tips!
Scott
Tried searching the forum, visiting the app support page, and also brought this up via chat support before posting this (special mention to MaienM for the assistance!). But up to now the .ORF file still can't even be recognized by GIMP-Portable using the workaround posted submitted by gocyclones on January 20, 2007 - 11:52am 'HowTo: Open RAW files in GIMP Portable with UFRaw plug-in'
Would appreciate solutions specific to GIMP-Portable please.
Currently I use WinXP running portableapps from a usb drive, and GIMP-Portable v2.6.1.
I'm not new to the world of portable apps, but I'm having a trouble.
I downloaded GIMP 2.6.1 (if there's a new version, don't remind, I'm on dial-
up), but the installer won't start with a message from Windows saying that the program is too big to put on memory. 7-zip fails to open it.
GIMP_Portable_2.6.1.paf.exe is sized 16.2M (17038232B), was downloaded using a download manager and has no icon. I'm using Avast Antivirus and it gives no alert.
