How to add new plugin?
I have some problem with the gimp portable. I wanted work on some picture and add some little bit special font. This font I have previously installed on the host PC, normal apps like winword etc offered it for use.
Only gimp portable could not find the particular font. Furthermore I have noticed it offers only part of the fonts installed on the host machine.
Where does the gimp portable loads the fonts it is using from? Is there any restriction on what fonts it is using?
I'm a little confused on this. Can this be saved strait on a CD and used ?
My issue is I'm ever leary anymore about saving (installing) programs if I don't need them. I wanted to try GIMP to see if it had the functions that I'm after. I've installed two other freeware image programs and they don't do what I want.
Do I have to actually install this thing on my computer? Can I just down load the file - save the file in my documents - burn it on a CD and use it?
Thanks

is there a way i can get git gimp back the way it was (every thang in separate windows)
It happens 50% of the time now - I can create a new document, but I cant paint.
Just trying to zero in on the problem as it is annoying in it's unpredictability.
Layers are unlocked, all Preferences/Folders are set to "writable".
I'm running the app from my local disc, root directory.
I notice the whole GIMPportable folder is set to read only, and when I untick the option, it usually changes back.
For the last 10mins, I have been going over these areas of the software to identify the problem, have re-installed latest version, and have been stuck.
Hi all,
First off thanks for the awesome software. I can't live without it.
I am having a problem with GIMP Portable 2.6 on Vista. I must have at some time used a font that I no longer have. When I click on the Font tool on the toolbox an error pops up:
"Pango-ERROR **:Unable to open font file C:/Windows/fonts/DejaVuSans.ttf for font DejaVu Sans 16, exiting
aborting..."
I checked and the font is not in the directory.
The tutorials were a bust...so does anyone know how to do this...?
Hi,
I need some clarification. When I update GIMP to 2.6.3 do I also need to update the GIMP Portable Photoshop Layout add-on and the GIMP Portable Background Window add-on?
Thanks for your help,
Al ............
When starting up GimpPortable 2.6.2, Spyware Doctor gives an "High Risk Level" popup with the following report:
Threat Name - Adware.Agent.BN Details - Spyware Doctor has blocked an application attempting to access a file. Risk Level - High Infection - C:\PROGRAM FILES\PORTABLE APPS PLATFORM\PORTABLEAPPS\GIMPPORTABLE\APP\GIMP\BIN\LIBCROCO-0.6-3.DLL
Why would LIBCROCO-0.6-3.DLL report Adware? It wasn't there with previous releases and I cant get it removed. Blocking it with Spyware Doctor doesn't seem to affect Gimp's stability.
Hello boys and Girls.
What I want to do is make a simple Speech, Idea, Thought
Type bubble, then put text in it.
One or all (if we know how to do the different ones)
the above would work.
Like a light bulb, or
Blowing a bubble with Gum would be perfect.
It does not have to be perfect.
But I don't want a rectangle, or just a oval or elipse.
What is the right way to do this ?
OH, P.S. (If you know)
Do Jpg's retain the "Print size" information you can add ?
