Disable Flash Screen

Submitted by mdweaver7485 on April 7, 2006 - 10:57am

Im not sure if their is something I'm missing but I cannot seem to disable the splash screen for the Portable Apps. I have a series of applications of my Portable Drive but not of of them are from PortableApps and as such I would like to have consitency in not having splash screens. This is a copy of my config. I have DisableSplashScreen set to true but it seems to have no effect.

New Window

Submitted by colfrank on April 6, 2006 - 2:32pm

In my main FF window I have turned off the Bookmarks Toolbar.
If I go to a link and open it in a New Window the Bookmarks Toolbar is always there (taking up space).
How can I turn it off for all windows?

I have had firefox on my 128mb lexar jumpdrive 2.0 for a couple months now. It is a great program and i was not having any problems with it. Now just 2days ago, it started taking 5-10minutes to launch and when it did it was just the basic browser, all of my extensions and themes gone. SO i copied and pasted the file to my c:\ drive and it launches fine, all extensions intact. What's wrong?:(

Why is there 2 executible ways of starting portable firefox

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on April 3, 2006 - 9:13am

In the portable firefox directory there is a portable firefox executible to start firefox. Also in there, I find a firefox directory and inside that folder is a firefoxe.exe executible. If I use the portable firefox executible to start fire fox and then later click on a internet link, the internet link uses the firefox executible instead of the portable firefox. Seems confusing having 2 different ways of starting the same program and then you have to duplicate the themes and extensions. I guess I am confused. Is there a solution to using just 1 of the executibles so I only have 1 set of t

Takes 1 to 2 minutes for firefox to start for the first time

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on April 3, 2006 - 7:56am

I have installed portable firefox on my usb chip and it was very slow starting. So I moved the program to the c drive. Still the first time I run a browser command it takes a minute to 2 minutes for firefox to start. My usb is a 1.1. I have windows xp pro installed with webroot spyware sweeper and bitdefender anti virus. Is there any way to speed this up? I did install fasterfox too, which did nothing for this first time starting problem. Sure would appreciate any input on this. Thanks In Advance

New USB Drive, FF S L O W

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on March 31, 2006 - 9:35am

This week I got a new SanDisk Cruzer Micro 2GB b/c it was on sale for only $69. However, FF runs EXTREMELY SLOW.... I mean it takes 2+ minutes just to open; it takes 10+ seconds to switch to an already open tab; it takes 15+ seconds to open a new tab; and FORGET about clicking in one window and switching to another while the first link comes up!!!!

I've got an open support ticket with SanDisk--they had me reformat it, then download some Micro$oft app that verifies the authenticity of the USB device, and I've been left hanging since yesterday morning.

Is there ANYTHING that could be Firefox related here? I don't see how, b/c I copied everything off my USB drive, a Lexar 512MB. It runs EXTREMELY fast--especially compared to this one.
