Music & Video Apps Support

This is a minor issue.

When ever i try and use Audacity I get an error saying that the editing the registry has been disabled by an administrator. In future versions could registry editing be removed?

when i dounload a file i cannot ofen it .

Any suggestion for the following problem?

I use a USB stick with Ceedo. It is a great application making it possible to run even non-portable apps on your drive. It works great!

However, I am still unable to get a media player with which I can view a video file from the browser. I mean, when I use Internet Explorer and click on a link to an .avi file, Windows Media Player pops up and starts playback.

I have PortableApps suite on a USB stick installed and copied my language settings
(Dutch) from a local installation of Firefox and Thunderbird as well as my profile settings, works like a charm.
But when I install VLC portable and some MP3 files (room enough it's a 4GB stick)I met various problems installing the player (read/write errors)
I just tried again and again, finally I had a proper install.
But I lost all my settings,add-ons and accounts in Firefox&Thunderbird luckily I had a backup.
I reïnstalled about 5 or 6 times now but the problem persists.

I've been trying to install VLC on my PC - it's Vista Business. I keep getting this message: "Error opening files for writing
C:\VLCPortable\..."
I can abort, retry or ignore. If I ignore, the next error message comes up with a different file name. And so on.

What can I do?

I haven't gotten it yet, but I plan on getting the Sansa Clip 2gb, and like most mp3 players, it can play playlists. What I am wondering is has anyone else used the vlc playlists on their portable mp3 players? Good, bad, same across the board?

My USB flash drive letter at work is different to that at home. When I compile a playlist at work it doesn't play at home or vice-a-versa because of the different drive letters. How can I ensure that my playlists are drive independant.

I have downloaded VLC applicationto my USB. But i am not sure how it works. Can i take a video from, You tube and save it to my Mobile (it is Sony Eriksson).

I wasn't sure if this would be the best place for this or not, but since it involves the Audacity support page I thought I would start here

I was trying to walk somebody through adding MP3 support in Audacity Portable last night, and we discovered that the link on the Audacity support page for LAME is broken.

Is there a way for me to save my files as a playlist?

Probably a dumb question but you don't know if you don't ask.
