I need to backup my mail messages, my adress book...
How can i do it?? Please, someone help me with this problem
I have a bunch of emails from various accounts that are in my sent box on local folders. I am trying to reorganize and put them into sent boxes for the individual accounts. My problem is that the email box just says my name and not what account I sent them from. Is there anyway I can fix this?
I had this strange problem where I was trying to access a samba share who's folder was not created cause my entire windows xp system to be practically freeze to a point where I had to reboot.
However on reboot I noticed the two portable apps firefox/thunderbird which was running at the time had their complete profile wiped clean! Lost all account information in thunderbird and firefox lost all passwords...
Luckily I had a backup over 2 months ago but anyone know how this happened and what's the proper way to prevent this from happening.
Running Thunderbird Portable on a flash drive with U3. I'd like to change which folder contains all the files that contain my messages. Is this humanly possible?
I'm using the U3 version of Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 on XP SP3. Instead of graphics embedded in emails, I get a text box. Is there an option so that I can get the email as the sender intended? I have a high speed internet connection so bandwidth is not a consideration.
I suppose when I use the U3 Flash Drive on a computer with dial-up, I would want to be able to return to the text box option.
how can i set up thunderbird portable as the default email program in xp.
I found an app that will set any browser to default including FFP
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultbrowser.htm
it would be nice to have an APP for setting email programs just the same.
If you know of the program or any other solution can you help me.
Hello Chaps,
On my portable TB which I have been running now for more than 2 years and has always been updated to the latest version. But either because of the latest version being 2.0.0.17 or because I have just started using Vista at home (still XP at work)I have been suffering from the vanishing English (British) dictionary. I also have the U.S. version and the German dictionary. Has anyone experienced this before?
Regards DF
I've just moved over to Thunderbird from Pegasus mail, and am using version 2.0.0.17 (20080914). I have some notes on my mailserver that I can't force to download.
According to the main Thunderbird site, deleting x:\ThunderbirdPortable\Data\profile\Mail\/popstate.dat should force a reload, and the dat file should have all sorts of info in there. The file doesn't have anything in it except a warning not to edit, and deleting it does nothing. None of the dat files for other pop servers contain anything either.
I was having trouble with unread mail messages being shown on the welcome screen of Windows XP after using Thunderbird Portable.
When I empty the trash, I would like to have the most recently-deleted items remain in the Trash just a little longer, in case I want to look at them again.
But if I use the Empty Trash command, all of them go away. Whether it keeps them a week or two weeks, or even just a couple of days, I don't care. I just would like a little margin.
I don't know what mechanisms are in place to allow this kind of customization.
Any ideas?
