[Fixed-PortableOnly] InfraRecorder hides Desktop Icons in Windows 7

While this bug is there in both the Portable and Installed versions of Infrarecorder, I think it is a big enough issue to inform the users here.

As you may know, in Windows 7, you can hide the desktop icons by right-clicking on the desktop and unchecking Show Desktop Icons.

Well, the bug is that Infrarecorder does that secretly every time you run it. It must be doing it on the registry level, because the icons don't disappear right away, but the next time you reboot, they are gone.

Notepad++ Plugins.

In some future release, would it at all be too much to ask to have the option to install the various default plugins for Notepad++ like in its own installer? I only use four of them so every time I update I have to uninstall them manually.

This also goes for all other apps with plugins that don't do this in their installers, but Notepad++ was the only one that came to mind since I just updated it.

Google Chrome - Update server not available (error: 1)

Submitted by -V- on March 5, 2010 - 9:21am

I am using the latest Google Chrome app, version 4.0.249.89.

When I click on [About Google Chrome]from the wrench menu, at the bottom of the window it states "Update server not available (error: 1)" Does this mean, that I won't be able to go thru the occasional browser update whenever Google releases one?

I have this browser installed on my home pc, downloaded from Google and installed on the C Drive and everything looks fine. However for this portable edition, which is installed on my Kingston Flash Drive (which is the E Drive), I get this error.

use xampp launcher

Submitted by hereiam on March 2, 2010 - 3:37am

Hello everybody,

I downloaded XAMPP and XAMPP Launcher 1.3 and installed Launcher at:

%drive%\PortableApps\XAMPP\App\AppInfo

For the next step I exctracted XAMPP to

%drive%\PortableApps\XAMPP\Data\xampp

But there is no change that XAMPP launcher can find XAMPP server.

How have I to edit Launcher INI-File that is does work.

INI-File:
%drive%\PortableApps\XAMPP\App\AppInfo\appinfo.ini

Settings of INI file at the moment:

[Format]
Type=PortableApps.comFormat
Version=0.9.8

[Details]
Name=XAMPP Control Panel

Flash and Gears on Chrome

Submitted by oboewan on February 28, 2010 - 5:25pm

Three questions:
1. If I install Flash on Chrome, will it install on the host machine? If not, is there any way I can put it on the USB drive?
2. If I enable offline access on Google Docs or GMail using Gears, where is my data stored: host machine or USB drive?
3. Is there any way I can put Chrome application shortcuts (SSBs) in my PA.c menu?
