Hello everyone! I'm new in this forum. I was trying to run PortableAppsMenu on my Windows ME with 1158x864 resolution and I get the error message below:
----------------------------------

.
Portableappsmenu will now close.

If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer.

OS: Win Xp Pro SP2
USB: 1 GB MP3-Player USB 2.0
Portabel-Apps: Suite 1.0, Patched from 1.0 to 1.0.1

Got these Error-Messages in the Win-Explorer anytime I'd like to open the Apps from my USB-Player.

The only thing that works ist the portableApps-Menu, but even if I'd like to start any app using the menu, the Message-Box appears.

Have done the installation as told in the guide, directly into the root of my player...and there it appears under "Workplace\MTP Player\Internal Storage\PortableApps"

Any Guess?

Menu not showing coorectly

Submitted by alin_derom on August 6, 2007 - 4:13am

Dear sirs,
I am using the portable apps menu on 2 systems : one "workstation" PC with 19" screen 1280*1024, and one notebook (ACER travelmate 653Lci) with a 15" screen at a resolution of 1400*1050. Whenever I use the menu on my workstation the menu shows correctly, whenever i show the menu on my notebook the menu shows "strange" (also in 1280*1024 resolution). I haev 19 programs installed
What do I mean by this :
The menu is (according to me)made out of 2 items : a background and the contents.

Exiting PA Suite

Submitted by Axel_Kassel on August 3, 2007 - 2:09pm

On this PC running XP Pro, clicking on the "X" button to exit the Portable Apps Suite menu has no effect. Nor does right-clicking the system-tray icon to find a menu.

Could this be a firewall or AV interaction? Is there another way to exit short of going to a Task Manager stomp-on command? Befuddlement abides.

Portable Apps Suite/Menu does not work

Submitted by erniebanks on August 1, 2007 - 1:41pm

I have a brand new PNY 8g flash drive and can't get PA suite to work at all. I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, reformatted, tried on 3 computers, etc. and PAM will not launch. My only luck was with the base edition. PAM will launch (most of the time) but KeyPass is the only app that will launch and work. No other apps (ClamWin, Firefox, OpenOffice, Sunbird, Sumatra, even Sudoku) that I install will launch with the base edition (windows error/send report).

No Luck Running PortableApps Menu Under Vista

Submitted by martinw on July 24, 2007 - 1:38pm

Hi,

From reading here I know PortableApps menu is supposed to be fine under Vista - but I'm having no luck at all. All appeared to install OK.

When I launch StartPortableApps.exe from my G: drive it just gives the 'nice but useless' Vista crash message ("Start PortableApps Has Stopped Working" with close program button). Event Viewer gives little to go on:-

Add item to PAM menu to launch EXE?

Submitted by nightfire117 on July 22, 2007 - 10:07pm

Is there a program that can be added to the PAM menu and launch an EXE? I tried PortaLaunch but it doesn't seem to be working. The splash comes up for a short while, less than a tenth of a second I'd say, and it crashes without launching my app.

I'm wondering if I'm doing this right. I have a directory under Apps called {foobar2000} and then I'm trying to launch the foobar2000.exe but to no avail.

Example, launching Foobar2000

; See Other\PortaLaunchSource\Docs\inisettings.txt

[PAL]
ProgramName={foobar2000}
ProgramDir=.\App\{foobar2000}
