Multiple USB drives

Submitted by HdxBmx27 on October 30, 2007 - 4:14pm

Is there any possible way to add a second 'PortableApps' folder to the menu?
Heres the setup, I have two USB drives.
One holds my utility apps. (FTP, DevC++, Clam, etc...)
And the other holds my games (Starcraft, CS:S, WoW, GuildWars, etc)
It would be nice if I could add another folder that the menu would look at.
So that I can plug both drives in, click 'Add App Dir' nav to my 2nd USB, and have it list all my games.
So I don't have to run two menus.
Not to big of a deal, just curious if it is possible. in any manor.

Menu Suggestions

I know there are modified versions of the PortableApps Menu but some of them are unstable and do not work as well as the original so I cam providing a few suggestions for the next version of the Menu.

- Allow the addition of folders within the menu so that Programs on the portable device can be categorized.

- Allow renaming of programs that are placed in the Portable Apps Menu.

- Allow resizing of the Menu and also allow the menu to dragged around on the screen.

How do I launch portableapps in Ubuntu?

Submitted by garybrune on October 14, 2007 - 9:49pm

I run a dual boot machine with XP and Ubuntu 7.04, which I will upgrade to Gutsy Gibbon, v7.10 as soon as it is available. I have two physical hard drives, with PortableApps installed on my data drive. It launches fine from there in XP, and I would like to run it in Ubuntu.

How do I do this without Wine?

Menu not clickable

Submitted by JakobF on October 13, 2007 - 10:14am

Hello,

I have a problem using PAM 1.1 beta release..
The Menu is not clickable. So I cannot
open any programs nor the options etc.
I can also not close the program.
All 'mouse over' effects are working,
the move cursor over the logo, e.g.
Sometimes when I just plugged my Stick in it works,
but mostly only for the first fadein/out of the menu.
Then it's not clickable again.

Hope you can help me

Best regards
Jakob

Menu more persistent??

Submitted by Hilarious on October 5, 2007 - 5:02pm

Would it be possible to make the Menu have the option to not vanish on an app's selection? Some times - most times - it is very useful to be able to open apps in quick succession and not trek to the world's (bottom right) end to find a menu that could be more easily positioned and accessed to suit the user.

I couldn't find a response to the last person who asked this about 5-6 months ago. Is it likely or even possible?

so i hear that PAM beta 5 is out and that it supports .png files. well me and neorame were talking about getting the digital glass(alpha transparancy) that windows vista aero glass pulls off. apparently this can be pulled of with a .png file like the pam supports, unfortunately as you will see here, the PAM supports .png's without alpha tranparency making it imposable to pull of vista's aero glass.

i request that one of the improvements that we make to beta 5 is the support of alpha transparency.
