Localization Discussion

The PortableApps.com Launcher (used to create the AppNamePortable.exe launchers that handle app portability) uses .nsh translation files for localization. These nsh files are contained within the PortableApps.comLauncher\Other\Source\Languages directory when you have the PortableApps.com Launcher installed. They are also available for direct download.

The next stable release of the PortableApps.com Platform will support showing the intro message and source code offering and license in the language the user selects the during installation. So, I'd like to get translations of it into as many supported languages as we can.

The PortableApps.com Installer (used for individual .paf.exe installers) and the PortableApps.com Platform installer share the same strings for translation. These are a little different than the .locale files included with the platform as they can't be translated and then tested directly by translators. Nor can they use the iniTranslator Portable utility to handle translations.

For any updates to translations or issues with the translations in the current PortableApps.com Platform stable release (beta release if there is one, stable if not), please post finalized versions here once they have been discussed with other speakers.
